A good idea, or not?
Are u still happy going out, grinding for pidgies, rats & the like or do you wish there was something else, a little variation perhaps? I was thinking along the lines of hidden treasure boxes, with random items in, some v good, some not so. Things u stumble upon throughout the game, maybe maps, quests, etc. This surely wouldn't be hard to implement and would keep things alive & fresh while you're out hunting. There are times, between events, etc when I wonder why i'm out catching the same crap in the same places & thinking wouldn't it be cool to stumble upon something different that takes u off on a tangent. Or are you happy with the way things are ?

The formula is a little too linear.. Some of the main games in the series had an underground world where you could explore for items (evolution items, fossils, etc). Also adding things like fishing, digging and sparring of some kind so you can pit two of your pokémon against each other would be cool. Changing the level 30+ rewards to have some variety and feel like your actually being rewarded is a start. What about at max level, prestige rewards?
So simple to implement, and so cool. You could stumble on these by spinning a pokestop or gym. This would take you to a new unreal area with a boss(es) guarding a treasure box. You have to beat the boss(es) one on one. They could use the existing gym style for the combat, or something new.
There are sooooo many things they could do, many of which could use existing code, so little new coding and testing would be required.
