Gyarados with Bite/Crunch

His IV is 95.6% to be exact. What to do with him? Use charge tm on him with hope for Hydro Pump? Bite/Crunch is ranked A- on attack but that doesn't convice me enough.

The thing is my mom still doesn't have Gyarados with HP. Other one she has is Bite/Dragon Pulse.

From a collectors point of view i'd keep the 'dark-gyarados' as is and -maybe- give the 'dragon-gyarados' a dragon-type quickmove.
Dragonpulse is legacy, so i'd keep it.
So if Gyarados will ever get a water-type quickattack the set will be complete

Couple names of new moves were found in the code before 0.79.4 downgraded the app. Waterfall as quick move was there... maybe for Gyarados, a man can dream.

That's interesting because if anyone's going to get waterfall as a move it will be Gyarados. It's like his signature move as one of the few good physical water type moves. Also he came out of a waterfall in Pokemon Snap :P

Technically it is the signature move of Goldeen and Seaking, but most water pokemon can learn it by TM.

The thing is, Gyarados is completely outclassed as a water attacker by Vaporeon, outclassed as a dragon/ generalist attacker by Dragonite and outclassed by Tyranitar as a dark specialist, however the last is his most useful role since it resist Alakazam and Mewtwo’s Focus Blast, still it isn’t that good, we can only hope Niantic gives him either a water or flying fast move and outclass Vape or shine as a generalist

Me and another high level player flip flop Blisseys once or twice a day, computer picks B/HP Gyarados when his Blissey is DG and FB Gengar when it is HB. It has been working well recently. I have 4 B/HP; 1 DT/O and a 1950 B/C shiny...at one point I tried to switch a HP to C but not gonna ever try that again. HP is a good move.

Gyarados can be OK as a Dragon killer with its Dragon-type moves, but you would probably want one of its legacy movesets. And even then, Gardevoir comes out in gen 3 and could be a new Dragon killer if it gets a double Fairy moveset.

And if you want a Dragon killer, Ice is the way to go. Articuno, Lapras, Cloyster, Jynx with double ice moves, all are cheaper to get and more effective than Gary against Dragons.

In Gen6, Gyarados can learn Bounce by move tutor.
In Gen7, Gyarados can learn Hurricane by level up.

Not that I’m convinced mega evolutions will ever come to Go!, but Mega Gyarados becomes a Dark type.

Well, I have 18 Tyranitars all with bite, none with Fireblast...I don't need a crunch Gary, but neither do many, many other players. So it could become legacy
