Have the nests been replaced with Halloween event types? If so, did this happen during the Fire and Ice event? Did the original nests return or were there new nests after.

The nests in the nearby park are still spawning Nidoran F, so no, the Gen3s do not replace nests, they just spawn more in the normal spawn points. They're all over the place now.

The local park had just changed to a scyther nest with the last nest migration on Wednesday.

Today there aren't any scyther anywhere in the park.

Yesterday the nearby would show 3 - 5 at a time.

At first I thought the OP meant that the gen 3s took the place of the nesting pokemon. So far I have only seen 2 nests swapped around my city.

I apologize for my lack of clarity in the question.

It looks like the nest migration has been forced to move to every other Friday at 18:00 PDT.

I guess that the nidoran F nest near you coincidentally changed to another nidoran F nest. Unfortunately, my machop and scyther nests changed to bellsprout and jynx nests. The jynx nest is right next to an area where they already spawn frequently.

I was excited to be able to finally get a good machamp and to get double machop candy and double scyther candy, with my problem being how to split my time between the nests. Niantic solved that problem by taking away the possibility of getting any of either candy around here. I might see a wild scyther or machop once a month.

On the plus side, I should be able to get better gengars for machop solo raids, which can give double machop candy during the event (and double that with a pinap). The ability to catch a shadow claw gengar for the event would have been nice.

It would be nice if Niantic would use a communication department to tell people what is going on, but they prefer to remain as mysterious as a religion.

Thank you for your reply and, again, I apologize for my lack of clarity.

Mine changed from Growilith to Poliwag

Are you sure they replaced all Growlithe nests? There's still one Growlithe there. Although 2 weeks ago I saw a bunch of magnemites at the usual nest, then the next day they were all Meowths.

Not sure but I do know for a fact there were no Poliwags when I walked through there last night

Might be a secondary nest that produces Poliwags, sometimes new ones pop up. I've found a new one just in front of the Victoria Palace in my city.

Eevee changed to Kabuto. Pretty sure there weren't Kabutos there before today.

Agree. It was a big Eevee nest before.
Btw, hi fellow Singaporean, do you stay near there?

The event forced a nest switch. Our best local nest just switched to machop and all of us were pumped. The event started and now it’s bellsprout. Meh.

I had been a bit mad at myself for throwing a bunch of pinap berries at the machops I was catching. After all, during the event, I would be getting twice as many candies. Now I am glad I was not thinking about what I was doing. OTOH, the machop I evolved got double steel moves. :-(

Is there any reason to expect that the next nest migration will be back to machop, or is it just going to be just another random migration?
