Who will be your buddy for the Halloween Event?

Curious which Pokemon users will be walking for the Halloween Double Candy Event?

Personally, I want a few more Togapi candies.

I don't need candies for anything specific, so probably will stick with the same Larvitar that's been my buddy for the last 529.8 km.

I’m still working to power up a fourth TTar for when/if I ever get that elusive EX Raid pass for Mew2, so Larvitar is sticking by my side. 500km and counting.

I don't see why anyone would change.

Dratini.

After getting wrecked in the last two attempts to Solo an Alakazam (embarrassingly smoked... oi. It had Focus Blast.) I've decided it's time to build up powerful Dragonites.

I don't think Dragonites are the solution to that problem; Gengars and Tyranitars are, along with some selective dodging of focus blast, which isn't too difficult.

Only if I can get a new phone; for some reason my phone doesn't like to Dodge regularly. Sometimes it's great - other times (particularly if it's windy outside) it just keep on attacking instead of dodging. Now, that isn't the only reason I lost to the Alakazam (I haven't hit the break point with all of my Pokémon yet, for example) but it's the quickest and easiest way, and doesn't involve me paying $300 and signing up for a new 2 year contract.

Besides, high level Dragonites aren't bad to have anyway.

No question, high level Dragonites are great to have. They are too slow for raiding Alakazam, though.

According to Pokebattler simulations, here are my best lineups against C/FB and PC/FB Alakazam boss. The Dragonite is level 35 with DT/O and 100% IV's.

Geodude. I need to power up some Golems, and Geodude is very rare here.

Sticking with Dragonite. I don't see the point in walking Larvitar when you can raid TTar. Have 5 dragonites 2 powered up currently but sense you can't raid Dragointes i'll keep walking them I bet they will be easy to make a trade with if that ever comes out..

It all depends on the biome you're in, for me dratini are as commen as drowzee, I catch about 5 dratini a day, so for me it is the same larvitar i have as my buddy for the past 278,4 km

Zapdos or moltres. Not quite sure yet

Machop and Scyther. Machop is rarer than Dratini here, and Scyther is nonexistent.

I will continue with the TTar that has been with me for the past 631.5 km until he is maxed. After that I have a perfect Lapras I want to level up and I've been saving some high IV Eevees to get my first Gen 2 Eeveelutions using the walking method.

Pidgey for me as my goal is to gain maximal amount of XP.

I've been sticking with Tyranitar and Porygon (I was walking a Dragonite, but I find them occasionally in the wild for 20 candy a pop so i have tons of candy and figure i dont need 6 Dragonites).

I'm wondering - with halved walking distance, should I walk a Legendary now? Each 10km would be 1 Rare Candy and the distance halved is massive.

Eevee. I've been trying to amass an Espeon army to solo Machamp, but I am now 0-9 in getting Future Sight. Arrggghhh. Out of the five charged TMs I've subsequently used, four have been wasted going back and forth between the two lesser moves. Tenth time will be the charm. LOL
My pokedex is at 241 and I already have 8 TTars and numerous legendaries, so I don't really have the need for any more candies for specific mons.

Not optimal. You still have to walk 10 km and get 2 candies to evolve into Eevee. If you get 2 candies and evolve immediately, after 1.6 km, my understanding is you'll get Vaporeon/Jolteon/Flareon randomly. Now, if you need the candy, that's cool, but know that you don't get a discount on the 10 km for the evolution trick.

yeah, that's crucial. more than 1 person has been burned on evolving Espeon without realizing the "rules" on the trick.

Heracross all the way! Although, it would be tempting to use Geodude and get like 100 candies lol.

Tyranitar. I haven't seen a t-tar raid at a gym near me in 3 months, but did get hatch several high IV larvitars from the equinox event. I've already evolved and powered up one of those and after this event, I will be able to evolve and power up another, and will have enough candy left over if i ever catch another t-tar from a raid to power up what would be my 4th in total

Torn between T-Tar and Machamp. Probably going with T-Tar (well, Larvitar), as I have fewer of them, and it's more important in the meta game.

Gotta say, though, if one doesn't have several good Golems, this is an easy way to fix that right quick. A mere 31 km to get enough candy to evolve from Geodude to Golem. And as long as one gets (or TMs to) a double rock moveset, very useful.

I was thinking the same thing, but then...

Our best local nest just switched to Machop. Right before a double candy event. I’m giddy over it.

So, I’ll be walking my Pupitar.

My buddy Dino has walked with me for 479 km so far... and will help me evolve my 3rd Tyranitar.

Tyranitar raids are rare and having enough players available even rarer... but at least, unlike with legendaries, there is another way to obtain Tyranitar. Why not for legendaries? Why, Niantic?! /rant over/

I'm working on getting an Ampharos. Not really the best stats but i've hatched / caught more Larvitars than Mareep. And the Tyranitar I have is not really the best, Iron Tail / Stone Edge, 14 HP, 14 Atk.

Pidgey. Don’t see my stardust can outrun my rare candies. Looking to level up as fast as possible
