Alakazam Raid

If one needed a sixth attacker, would double dark S/C Arcanine be worth using?

No. Double Dark Arcanine averages 214 s vs. Alakazam on Pokebattler, which is much higher than the 180 s allotted.

Alakazam is a tough raid boss and you want as many attackers as possible that clock in at under 180 s.

Thanks for the quick response. I am sitting with

Tyranitar B/C
Scizor FC/XS
Houndoom S/FP
Gyarados DT/C
Gengar SP/SB
Dragonite DT/HB
Didn't think that team was good enough.

Use Gengar first, as it is your glass cannon.
This way he is less likely to face a spam of charge attacks until Alakazams filled his charge bar, and should be able to get off considerable damage before tapping out.
If he comes in later he is susceptible to getting KO'd before he has had a chance to make the most of his dps.

TL/DR Glass cannons first always, so they have more time facing less charge moves.

A viable tactic is also to put them in position 2 so they don't take the 'double hit' initially. Also depends on boss moveset. If Alakazam has focus blast you actually want him to use it often on Gengar.

By the way, if the boss has Confusion + Focus Blast, you better get one Mewtwo in.

I dont think so, but you still can try it though especially if you have a verry good glass cannon upfront against the psyco cut alakazam
I am using gyarados B/C almost max out, it has little better stast than arcanine, and i cant do it against alakazam using it..

At the end of the day you either need a Mewtwo with shadow ball or a couple beefy Ttars, or a bunch of Shadow Claw gengars to do Alakazam. So most people go with beefy Ttars. And if you go the TTar rout, you seldom need 6 attackers.

PC/FB and PC/FS you might be able to get away with less but you certainly will fail against the other movesets.
