He has more weaknesses than resistances anyway so he isn't really a generalist in MY book. Dragonite still takes home that title. Plus... DPS is a pretty poor way to measure a Pokémon's effectiveness IMO. Tyranitar is way up there because aside from his stats and bulk, he is essential in the current meta.
Do you consider Tyranitar’s DPS high?
Seeing his best MS Bite/ Stone Edge in the DPS ranking at 78 place just below Espeon Confusion/ Psybeam makes me think that maybe he is kind of overrated as a top generalist, what do you think? I think it’s considered a top generalist attacker because of his unique resistances and bulk

he has a few weakneses but as is said below they are largely irrelevant as a gym attacker but otherwise agree and his coverage is effective against many of the legendaries (thanks to either being flying or psychic) , his dps is very dependent on SE damage mostly thanks the rather underwhelming nature of crunch.
The topp 3 DPSers imo (gengar, alakazam, machamp) all are pretty worthless at defending gyms. Machamp is semi-good as it is good as a nisch-attacker against snorlax and blissey but that's it.
DPS doesn't really tell anything about how it does in gyms.
In raids its typing (STAB+SE) and bulk makes it good.
