Are the 2nd gen stats just invented?

People are worrying over nothing. Niantic changes things all the time. I wouldn't give blissey a second thought. Especially before it's released.

They are a prediction. However people have figured out that Niantic based their stats off of the stats from the main games and the formula they used.

So unless there is another rebalancing, Blissey is going to be that strong.

there is a mathematical formula to calculating the base stats along with the CP, using the base stats of the main line pokemon games. yup blissey is just as scary in the main line. (on the defensive side)

but yeahh i wouldnt worry too much, feel like they might fix it. otherwise i can think of a few pokemon who can take care of blissey like scizor, heracross, machamp maybe, Tyranitar. rhydon should be able to handle as well.

The base Atk, Def, and Stm stats are derived from the main game base Atk+SAt, Def+SDf, and HP stats.

The predicted gen 2 CPs are based on how the stats are currently calculated. Given that they just changed that calculation, I doubt they are going to change it again any time soon.

A big balancing factor that they have at their disposal is the movesets they give to a pokemon. Snorlax has some of rhe strongest base stats, but its available fast moves are pretty mediocre. They could balance Blissey by just giving it really bad moves. (It already has relatively low Atk.)

More importantly though, I hope they improve the existing fighting fast moves to make more viable normal type counters.

I think buffing karatee chops damage would take care of blissey. Blissey was meant to be a tank that does no damage so it should be one of the top choices for gym defender. Its hard to get though

It will be pretty difficult to get her to that CP though. Chansey isn't very common and it takes 5 km for just one candy.
