Bringing Balance to the Force

It seems crazy that I often don't bother catching evolved or high-CP commoners, since a 10-CP pidgie rewards exactly the same as a 1200 pidgeot... thoughts about any of these hypothetical changes?

1) base XP earned = 10% of dust price (so would range from 20-500) - could still get the same amount of dust reward so wouldn't overly penalize early players, and would still provide reason for high-level players to catch low-CP mons.

2) big increase in candy, either if caught in wild or transferred to Professor, for evolved forms - at a minimum, 2X (6 Candy) for 1st evolution pidgeotto and 3X (9 Candy) for pidgeot. And if Professor also returned 1,2 or 3 candies based on evolved form, this would really make catching a pidgeot worth it for me (12 candies!).

What do you think?

since the complete of pokedex i dint even tried to get the 800smtcp charizard i came across cause of the ball cost and the same rewards it gives as a charmader epecially for players like myself who live in a small city with max30 pokestops(of course i already had 2 charizard or this would be a different story)

I've been a long time(1month) fan of this style theory. 3 6 9 catch and 1 2 3 toss. Personally I think dust should be 100 200 300 and xp should follow the same rules 100 200 300. Low cp catches are still worth catching because it's still candy no matter how you cut it but those 3 adjustments would make everything catchable no matter the level of player.

This sounds suitable but not really nessessary.
Imo every pokemon is worth to catch. Even without these changes. We should not make it too easy.
When I hear people saying something about ball wasting....if they have no balls, go in a city and run around until your bag is completly filled.
Sry for these hard words, but that is just my opinion.

Agree that with inexhaustible balls/berries sure, go ahead and catch everything - and I do go to places where I can load up, but items still run low after playing a bit, even with multiple bag upgrades.

For me it's really about balancing the game play aspect - make it worth my while to go after a high CP but otherwise worthless Taurus. Niantic's goal should be to get more people to do as you and catch everything, and an easy step in the right direction is to align the rewards. I do catch high CP pidgie and a few other commons for grinding, but otherwise I'm happier to see a low CP mon and won't bother with a higher level, which just seems wrong from a game-play perspective.

I like the dust 100/200/300 for evolved stages, but it really seems to me that XP should directly track with the level of mon - even thought about an XP gain = CP of monster caught! At trainer levels 30+ the XP still isn't worth that much but at least it feels fair.

They should've already done this, something like this. There's just no point in waste lots of berries, balls and effort to catch evolved mon. unless you dont have it and by now almost everyone have almost all the evolved forms.

I like it. Been thinking about the same thing.

Excellent ideas! It's really stupid that a Pidgey and a Pidgeot give the exact same rewards when caught, and it's almost as vexing that a 10 CP Pidgey and 450 CP Pidgey give the same rewards (though in this case I guess Niantic decided you're sacrificing good balls/berries in exchange for a pokemon that will require less stardust to max out).
