What to do with High CP, low IV/bad moves pokemon?
After the CP shift I suddenly have a few high CP (lets assume high=CP>2000) 'useless' pokemon that either have bad moves or low IV, that I almost will never use in gym combat, or I also have better options to put into gyms.
Some examples:
Kingler 2192CP, 80+ iv, Mud Shot Vice Grip
Kingler2168 CP, 51-67 IV, Metal Claw water pulse
Gyarados 2140 CP, 91 IV, (you know what move)
Gengar 2118 CP, 80+IV, Sucker Punch Dark pulse
Another two Kinglers with Mud shot...
Cloyster 2079 with FB/Hydro Pump
What do I do with these? I have pokemon space, but it's just annoying that they're there and I unfortunately have no use for them. It seems like a waste to transfer 2k mons when I can transfer 1.5k mons (saving the 1k for prestiging), but equally I don't really get a chance to use them...

If space isn't an issue, then I'd say just hang onto them - you never know if/when Niantic will do another rebalancing (or implement some sort of feature where you can reroll a pokemon's primary and secondary attacks) and these might become more relevant. I also like having a "living pokedex" of at least 1 of each type of mon in my inventory. That all said, 4 Kinglers seems a touch excessive.
Here's what I"m doing - it's a bit subjective sometimes:
For strong Pokemon, high IV's, and a mediocre moveset, I'm keeping either the highest IV or highest CP (depending on if its offensive/defensive focused). So your Gyarados with Twister I would keep. One little tweak and it could be useful.
For mediocre Pokemon with high IV and mediocre moveset I just transfer it.
Using your Pokemon as examples, I'm keeping 0 Kingler. He's just structurally flawed with move typing, he was never that good in the game to begin with, and I have a million Water Pokemon that are better everywhere.
I didn't keep any Hydro Pump Cloyster b/c the whole point of using Ice Pokemon is for Ice movesets. Ice and Water are effective against almost opposite Pokemon (which is why the combo is so good defensively) - might be diff story if you had defensive quick move.
Gengar I'm holding onto the highest IV of each bad moveset, mostly b/c I feel like Ghost hasn't quite come into its own yet. Plenty more Dark/Psychic are coming, and we don't know if Ghost types will ever be tweaked
Pokémon that you catch at high CP's or may even evolve for XP that end up with high CP (Staryu/Krabby and many more) CAN BE VERY USEFUL to have on hand if you are a trainer that frequents gyms. In this case (aka you have the space for these pokémon and you battle often) I have found the pokémon can suddenly be handy when you've run out of potions and revives just a couple hundred from training or taking down a gym. OR, more often I haven't even run out of potions/revives but I am too lazy or want to defeat a gym more quickly so I will immediately re-enter the gym w/my 'B' team of misfits and randoms. Some discretion has to be used here with regards to move set. But I definitely keep high CP, even just relatively decent IV pokémon specifically for gym use.
PS- it can be fun to test your battle abilities with pokémon that either aren't your go to squad or that have crap moves.
Twister hits Jolteon pretty hard and once Gyarados starts to spam it it can get quite tricky, because especially Thunder has a long cool down time. The more desired movesets like Dragon Pulse and Hydro Pump are a lot easier to battle against.
I use High CP-Trash for Gym defense in busy areas generally, so it doesn't appear like I'm not trying but it doesn't cost me any revives when they're fainted.
