Team for solo level 3 bosses. What do I need?

I would really like to make a team able to solo Machamp and Alakhazam. Machamp primarily, but if I am closer to soloing Alakhazam that would make it way easier to get a team to solo Machamp obviously.

For potential Alakhazam team I got:
Tyranitar 2049CP, B/C, 12 Attack. 82.2% IV. Got around 60 candies.
Pinsir 2250 BB/X-scissor, 98% IV. Can't powerup anymore right now due to candies.
On top of that I got nothing that is tailored for this, just a Gyarados with 2915 CP and Bite/HP. Can get like 50 more CP on my level.

For Machamp:
Dragonite, 3127 CP 96% IV DT/HU. Need a bit more candy to max it for my level.
Eggy, 2463CP, 82.2% IV. Level 30.5, 15 attack. C/SoB
Espeon: C/Psychic, 1761 CP 87% IV. Could power this one up.

Been really unlucky on Gengars/Alakhazams as you can see. I got one more Dragonite with ~3000CP and DT/OR if it helps, with 67% IV with 15 attack and HP.

What do I need to achieve this and what should I do to get there? I recently catched another 96% IV Dratini on level 29, so it might be able to help a bit as soon as I get the candies.

Hate to say it, but you aren't even close to being able to solo Alakazam. You have the starts to a Machamp team though. Check out this link for more info on what you need.

Edit:
Here's some reference for how hard Zam is: https://pokemongo.gamepress.gg/q-a/soloing-alakazam-1

That is fine, Alakhazam is pretty useless either way if I manage to get a solo Machamp team before it.

What do you think I should do to get a Machamp team?

If I get DT/HU on my second 96% Dragonite will my team be good enough if I power up Espeon as well?

I actually read that post but since my main strength is my DT/HU Dragonite(s) it is a bit hard to come to a conclusion, how does it perform vs level 30 Espeon/Alakhazam?

DT/H is much more survivable. It does less DPS in theory but it can still do the job with plenty of time to spare even against the harder movesets.

I say in theory because if you're able to get more charge moves off before fainting it can make your DPS higher than an Alakazam or Espeon that faints like half way to full energy. Being survivable makes it's DPS much more consistent, whereas glass cannons sometimes need a bit of luck.

Espeon/Zam with C/FS are head and shoulders above DT/Hu. But dragonite is great vs Machamp.

With an Espeon, 2 DT/Hu Dragonites, 1 DT/O Dragonite, and C/SoB eggy, you can probably get by vs C/CC. You'll need another Espeon/Zam to do other move sets. You'll want to add a sixth mon such as AS/O charizard.

Sounds exactly what I had in mind. Got a Wing attack/FB Charizard at 2100, but that is probably not good enough and I don't want to waste dust/TM on it.

So my plan will probably be to get another Espeon/Zam and finish my third dragonite and possibly TM my current Espeon. Seems a bit risky tho since I could just as likely end up with psybeam.

Part of the issue with soloing Machamp is that you're pushing the envelope, and you need to wring every ounce of damage out of your attackers. In that regard, you want Espeon with C/FS, Alakazam with C/FS or PC/FS. Espeon with Psychic is a weak second place, doing 20% less damage and taking a smidge longer to fire off.

Here's my team, and I can only beat Machamp with Close Combat:

Espeon 2770 C/FS L35.5
Exeggutor 2695 ZH/Sol L35.5
Dragonite 3331 DT/O L35.5
Exeggutor 2439 EX/P L31
Dragonite 2980 DT/O L31
Espeon 2176 ZH/PB L26
(Gyarados 2978 DT/HP L35.5)

(The last one needs work, but I don't have anyone better, and I don't have DT/H on Dragonite.) This lineup should do well, but I also have an old iPhone that slows me down - that's being updated soon (8 on order).

Gyarados is good against Machamps with Bullet Punch and/or Heavy Slam - since Espeon and Eggy fall faster to these, Gyarados sticks around longer. I've tried Crobat, but not enough CP. I'd love to have a Lugia with psychic or flying attacks, but I don't.

Learning to strategically dodge to get another charged attack off is also important. I need to do that with Espeon to get a win. One thing that works against CC is to fire off FS, and then get ready to dodge, because he'll probably fire CC. Eggy can take the hits, and I use the energy to fire back charged attacks.

To solo Machamp regularly, you have some work to do (as do I).

Good luck.

P.S. - This will be so much easier when Mewtwo comes out for everyone - best team is all Mewtwo with Psychic or Shadow ball.

How come you're barely scraping by Machamps with higher level Pokemon than me? Do you get lag?

With the exception of a level 31 Alakazam that has low attack IVs, the rest of my team is only level 30. I don't consider my team optimal, more of a mishmash of what I had available to power and it gets any moveset done.

Alakazam C/F
Alakazam C/P
Exeggutor E/SO
Gengar H/SH
Lugia E/S
Dragonite T/O

But Gyarados sucks, even against steel type movesets because it just hasn't got the damage. It's in the 210s range for any of Machamps moves and it isn't even that tanky, it's still expected to faint around 6 times, it's hardly an outlier in survivabilty like a Lugia. There's tankier Pokemon that also get the job done in time.

I've beaten Machamp with Dynamic Punch solo, and all my pokemon were around level 30. If you're limited by dust, I'd focus on getting 6 quality pokes, rather than maxing 1 or 2 out. Also, I highly recommend using pokebattler.

Your Alakazam team is really far off, you'd need several Tyranitars / Gengars / Mewtwo.

According to Pokebattler Alakazam is very strict on what you can use to be able to get the job done and not time out, and even you're still cutting it close in a lot of cases.

Pinsir is slightly lacking, it's time to win is above 180s for 5/6 movesets, and the one it does succeed, is really close at 175s and is still only theoretical - you can still lose because of lag or bad luck with charge moves, et cetera. Can still be usable if you have higher DPS Pokemon to make up for that lost time.

If you bring a Gyarados and you have no chance, it's time to win is 205-210s across all movesets.

That being said there's not really any use in doing Alakazam with Mewtwo around the corner. Basically it's just the final test for solo level 3 raids.

On the plus side, Machamp is one of the easiest level 3 raids, not just to do but to get the counters for - Eevees are readily available. The Dragonite and Exeggutor will get it done on time but you still need more counters.

Evolve the Dratini for sure since it's already high level. DT/H is preferred but Outrage is also acceptable, so that gives you 3 Dragonites and Exeggutor.

Your team should be able to last the entire raid if you dodge at least some of the charge moves, so you can fill the last 2 slots with glass cannons such as Espeon, or if you're quite far off from evolving the Dratini, 2 Dragonites, Exeggutor and 3 Espeons should work fine too.

I would suggest getting some espeons. The worst moveset (ZH/PB) is only marginally worse than psychic eggy as far as DPS. Only FS Zam is ahead of the rest. C/FS espeon is awesome vs Machamp but all the others are serviceable.

I've found 2-3 C/FS Espeon/Zam around lev 31-32 (check confusion pointbreak) hits so hard that 2 dragons (DT/Hu or DT/O) can pretty much coast the rest of the way.

Would ZH/FS Espeon be good? Everyone here is saying C/FS without saying anything about ZH/FS.

Like I said, all Espeon movesets are serviceable, it's just confusion is the best. When raids first came out I soloed C/DP and my 3 espeons had C/FS, ZH/PsyC, C/PsyB and 2 of the three were a half level below the breakpoint.
