tm on fire blast moltres ?

I go a 93.3% (15 attack iv) moltres with fire blast. Does it makes sense to tm it ? I assume not because getting heat wave would ne a disaster.

If you're planning to power it up anyway and have at least 2 TM's to spare, why not? Otherwise, there are better candidates.

I haven't used many tm's yet and eveytime I used one I got what I wanted on the first try so I don't know, let's say I get heat wave on the first try. On the second try am I guaranteed to get overheat because moltres forgot fire blast on the first try ? Or will it be a coin flip again between overheat and fire blast meaning it could potentially take a million tries going back and forth between fire blast and heat wave ?

Yes, it's still a coin flip. The reason I suggested 2 spare tms is so you're not stuck with heat wave if you get it.

Flareon with overheat would be better if you keep fireblast. I would tm it for overheat if you decide to power it up. Or you can try it out and keep fireblast if you are satisfied with its performance.

I do not understand why Flareon is better. Surely, it is easier to be powered since Eevee candies are far more common. But less attack and less bulk,so which are the obscure advantages?

The claim was Flareon with Overheat is better than a Moltress with Fireblast.

Overheat being better than Fireblast by a larger margin than Moltress is better than Flareon.

I'm not sure I agree with the claim, and don't feel like number crunching to see. But I figured I'd reply and clear up what the poster meant

attack stat moltres is 251, flareon 246. I agree that moltres has more bulk and is overal better, but the difference between overheat and fire blast doesnt make up for 5 attack.

Yeah that's it. The difference between this two moves is quite important.
In fact Moltres, Flareon, Entei, Charizard and Typhlosion do more damage with Overheat than Ho-Oh with Fireblast. That's how big Overheat is.
