Trick to a quick golden gym badge?

tl;dr
Is the most efficient way to a golden badge simply assigning Pokemon to a gym?

Last night I was fighting a spoofer with multiple accounts in my neighborhood. The reason for this is that first of all I hate cheaters, but also that I am in desperate need of those gyms to provide me of more items as Pokestops are quite rare in the area I live. It was a tough fight which unfortanetely I lost in the end.

However, the reason I kept going was because I want gold badges and it did give me "+100 points" each time I assigned a Pokemon into a gym. Therefore I came up with the above tl;dr thought.

Do the 100 points really count toward the badge? If that's true, one could easily manipulate this and alternate rattatas to a gym with a friend from the opposite team.

Fastest way, do raids at that particular gym, each raid will count 1000xp towards the gold medal. Second fastest way, fight and assign mon to the gym, if there are good mon on it you can get around 20xp per mon (exactly you will get moncp/1000), and then 100xp more for assigning the mon to the gym.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. The amount of XP added to the badge after a raid is independent of the level of the raid?

Defeating Pokemon is a slow and cumbersome process. It could be speed up if I could defeat 10 CP Rattatas instead of 3000+ CP Blisseys.

Yes, it is independant, no matter what tier is you will get 1000xp for your badge for each raid succesfully defeated at that particular gym.

And yes, fighting is slower but everything counts, I normally do a particular "route" in my way to work, I can hit like 5-6 gyms on the way, if I fight them everyday and assign a mon to them a part from the ocassional raids I will get for sure the gold medal faster than those that just come behind me and assign the mon.

I have 10 gold medals at this point and fighting gyms helps a LOT more than you may think. It is easier and faster now with motivation being introduced and also potion efficient.

Good to know. I had a break from PoGo when the CP decay wasn't that bad. Therefore I missed some points from the days that it was easier to maintain Pokemon in gyms.

Fighting Blissey + Snorlax + chansey in that order can still take some significant time and all I want is the gold medal. I might speed up the process and ask someone from the opposite team to help me out.

Different question; how much XP does one need to obtain to golden badge?

Wondered about this.

Is'nt the easiest way to obtain a gold badge just to create a lvl 15 account. battle with oneself, kicking in and out 10CP pidgeys with your main account and you lvl 15 account?

I don't like the idea of creating a second account, but rather ask someone from the other team for help. But besides that, I had the same thoughts.

Golden badges really help, but you notice it much more when your color controls. If it is that hard to secure it correctly, not going to be any better than a silver badge that you can easily control
