Ridiculus raid

Just came back from a Moltres raid. The first appearance was a 1792cp, It errored out during a excellent capture, logged In again and the Moltres changed to a 1852cp. I didn't mind the bug and started my round of excellent throws. 6/7 premier balls, 7/7 excellent toss and 0 Moltres. WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE?! Those capture rates are based on bullshit assumption made up by lunatics.

I've heard that exiting and returning to the capture screen will change your raid boss cp, but that when (if) you catch it, it will revert back to its original cp. So in this case, if you had been luckier, you still would have gotten a 1792. Hopefully someone can confirm this because I've never seen it myself.

As far as catching it, that sucks. Are you doing all their usual tricks? Curve? Golden razz? Otherwise I hope your luck improves this weekend.

I can confirm this. I was all excited that it was a higher cp then I caught it and it was back down. So disappointing. If that trick worked I'd just keep exiting and going back in till I got one almost perfect

Even though the CP changes, if you do catch it, it will be the original's CP...

Catch chance gets to ~70% or so even if you hit 7/7 curved, excellent, golden raz...

I now think the last ball catch bug thing is real considering people are now offering real money to prove you can't catch it so you're now looking at 1 less ball per attempt.

I've been doing it right after the book, razz, curveball and all. The issue is the capture %... I Have rewatched prodigiesnation tutorial a couple of times, and would say that I have mastered excellent throws by now. In my opinion there should be some sort of bonus added per each excellent, great or nice throws during the capture phase. They could even add a limited time frame for each throw so you can't abuse the prodigiesnation method. Overall I'm just salty that I yet haven't got myself a 1820+ worth investing in. Thunder chicken draws nearer each day...

If it makes you feel better, if you were to catch that Moltres, it would have defaulted back to the 1792cp one instead of the new 1852 one that appeared; at least that's what I've noticed from my experiences of erroring out and reentering and catching the mon

Edit: sorry ironman, I was ignorant and posted this before looking at the current replies to this question
