Any ideas how kids should get a bonus
These birds are Hard as they are for grown ups with around 50% catch rate. Imo toddlers are constantly loosing in the catch moment. Breaking my heart. Is the point of the game that grown ups should throw the balls for the kids?

These damn toddlers haven't even seen these birds before in their life before. I don't remember them crying when Pikachu was about to leave Ash in the series. Where were they? What? Not even born? Let them go play with their mega evolution Pokemon. This is big (wo)men business!
Niantic is damn right they make it more difficult for them.
In all seriousness, why would it be more difficult for them to catch a Pokemon than for a grown up? The catch mechanics of throwing a curve ball are not extremely difficult.
No offence at all, but in that case their chances on a catch is in agreement with their experience. Legendaries should be somewhat special and not freely available to anyone, right?
By the way, there is this 8 year old kiddo that already catches 8 Moltres the morning before I even woke up when Moltres was released.
This is the point (I have had to do the same) where the parent steps in and helps. You can kind of word it so you do it together (like saying "tell me when"). Works great with mine. They get mildly frustrated but they know we will get it.
Edit: and fwiw, there's nothing wrong with a kid working hard to get something and having to try multiple times through disappointment to get it. It's a great life lesson. The harder it hurts when it gets away is just how much more it will matter when you get one.
A group of us coordinated a raid through Discord, and before we began a father and son (probably like 8 yo) were walking by and asked if they could join us. The kid was playing and not the father. We were like ABSOLUTELY. It felt great to help this kid possibly get a legendary pokemon, something that must be hard for him without a drivers license or discord account.
We won the raid and begin to catch it. Everyone is rooting for this kid to catch him. After several misses he actually catches the legendary and everyone is almost teary-eyed for him. Then he says "That's my fourth Articuno", and the mood fell flat. This kid had more Articuno than most of us adults had.
Not really related but this one fella in our group has a pretty young kid that raids with us. He doesn't often catch anything but (with what I'm guessing was 5 balls) he caught a Lugia he went into the funniest nearly professional looking ninja karate moves you couldn't help but lol.
But there really isn't any way to fix it. I think it's Ok or a good idea for the parents to throw for the kids if they want. You'll know when they are too frustrated to throw for themselves. My girls are only 7 but they are pretty great at straight throws now and getting those bonuses.
In my experience, the kids in my playgroup are ridiculously lucky, and catch legendaries easily. I saw little kids showing off their collection of Articunos the first day they appeared. So yeah, they don't appear to need extra help.
I wonder if adding a tutorial into the game would help the people who don't throw very well. Like target practice or curveball practice.
My 9 year knew when that damn 1917 Snorlax (his fav) flew. But 2 days after an 1914 one stayed. Btw, I was the one throwing to 100 iv one(because I can do great curves, right :) -I had 13 premiers btw), he was the one straight throwing to 98 iv one :).
His legendary statistics is 2/2 moltres, 1/2 Articuno, 0/1 Lugia :) (we share the account).
Meanwhile I'm around 4/10 on each one :).
Nothing against kids (I have two 12-year-olds myself) but it's kinda sad if they can get multiple legendaries when many adults can't get any for lack of opportunity. (But that's all Niantic's fault for requiring large groups).
Since young kids can't be alone, the adults/parents with them can help them catch the birds.
2nd idea: a pity percentage. The more raids where the legendary flees in a row ups this percentage ( per species ). The percentage is added to the catch rate each time, to make it slightly easier to catch.
Then when they finally do catch that legendary, the pity percentage goes to zero again.
I know some people with mega bad luck streaks who try very hard, and this seems like it could help.
