Machamp or Heracross?
According to this website, Heracross has the same attack stat as Machamp, better Defense and a little less HP. I see many people saying that Machamp is much superior. Just tell me why?

I'd go for it! Heracross gets access to Mega Heracross (probably when gen6 releases) which has a huuuge attack stat. I don't remember off-hand but I think in the main series it's base attack rises to 170-180? Dragonite has a base of 134 and mewtwo has a special attack base of 154 for reference. It will have some use in the future either way. However by the time gen6 releases you mighty come across a better heracross :/
Heracross also has a double weakness to flying whereas its bug typing has the potential to cover its weakness to psychic types
Because Machamp has access to the charge attack Dynamic Punch, which is a 2 bar move.
Two bar moves are preferred over one bar, because less energy is wasted. E.g., you don't want to use Close Combat when the defender has only a small percentage of its health remaining, whereas dynamic punch might fit better in those cases.
The most common situation where I prefer Heracross over Machamp is when a Snorlax has earthquake as charge attack.
I have both Pokemon high levels and I feel like the Machamp edges the Heracross. Although my Machamp has close counter and not dynamic punch. Honestly they are very close in performance. In my experience they can both take out the same pokemon in the same amount of time. In the end it can't hurt to have both as part of your team. :P
As a defender, yes, this. Double weak to flying.
As an attacker, fighting Heracross is almost as good as C/DP Machamp, slightly better than C/CC Machamp.
Heracross also has bug moves, struggle bug/megahorn, that are quite effective against psychics (you know, like Lugia, Mew, Mewtoo, and doubly against Exeggutor).
Both are very useful.
