I submit that "defending" is yesterday's issue. As it should be. The game is better with the new format. 6 mons per gym, all different species. The game is so much better with the elimination of multiple Blissey towers. And better yet, the spoofers have been marginalized. Congrats to Niantic for getting this right!

Exeggutor as a Defender?
I've noticed that the community perception of this formerly good defender has gone down a lot. I understand the new patch has brought about an issue with that double weakness, but is he really not even viable anymore? I've looked at the tier list... but seriously? Lower than Hypno and Miltank? Hardly considered good at all? Surely Confusion and the ever spammed Seed Bomb is enough to deter some attackers, right? I sort of feel like he should at least be in the bottom tier... or am I wrong?

People that bother themselves with gyms will either use an ideal counter or a Dragonite.
***Part of being a good defender these days, have desirable candy, I remotely fed a Snorlax today and got 2 candies, also a Porygon2 and got another candy. Put a dratini or larvitar in there, it'll stay full health, too
