Ditto, Pokémon GO Plus and Journal

I use my Pokémon GO Plus a lot, and caught my first Ditto with it, only realizing it later.

When trying to catch i Ditto in disguise, using Pokémon GO Plus or any other way, and it runs away, will the journal entry correctly state that it was a Ditto that ran away or will it claim that it was e g a Pidgey?

I guess that the on screen message when using Pokémon GO Plus will work the same way as the journal entry in this case, but any information on this would be appreciated too.

Being curious I wonder if I can see if some Pokémon that ran away was a Ditto in disguise. It could also help collecting data about Ditto frequency.

I saw three players catching the same Magikarp and it was a Ditto for all, so what spawned there was actually a Ditto that looked like a Magikarp not a Magikarp that randomly became a Ditto when caught. I didn't try, but I think if one runs away it shows up in the Pokedex as a seen Ditto.

I'm curious as well if it will show up as a Ditto ran away. So far I haven't found any info to confirm this. I keep checking my journal every time a pokemon flees. Nothing yet.
