Tangela / Scyther

After the CP-adjustement, Tangela and Scyther became stronger, so I think about powering them up

Tangela:
82% IV
Vinewhip
Solarbeam
should be really good to fight waters with, but will will go up to 1850 WP at Level 30 only.

Scyther
84% IV
Fury-Cutter
Bug-Buzz
will be 2060 WP at level 30. Scyther is double-super-effective when attacking into grass / psychic (Exeggutor) and will double-super-resist his grass charged attacks.

Has anybody used these PKM? I would be glad to read your thoughts.

My 1000~ CP Scyther with Fury/X-Scissor was able to kill Exeggutors 2000+ easily. So I bet after update it can do it much better (didn't try cause now all gyms are full of water poke).
Anyways, if I were you, I would wait to gen II, evolve into Scizor and if it came with a good moveset, I would power it up max.

Of course if you have a lot of candies/stardust, and you like Scyther, go ahead.

For some reason 30% of my 10km eggs have hatched into Scyther, so yeah, I powered one up to kill Eggy.

It's good at what it does.

If you want a Eggy killer, yes, power up that Scyther, but if you want a better overall attacker, wait for Scizor for two reasons:
1 - higher attack
2 - Best typing, only one weakness (double for fire, so never put him on defense) and resistent to a LOT of things.

why is solarbeam the best charge attack wenn vinewhip got more dps?

DPS is only half the truth with charge attacks. You have to take energy-efficiency into account too.
It is correct, Power Whip does 70 damage within 3 secs as Solar beam does 120 damage within 5 secs, but they need the same amount of energy.
Taking the time to charge energy with vine-whip and the damage tangela does with this move into account, Solar-Beam-Tangela has more DPS than Power-Whip-Tangela.

Ah didn't think about that, thanks!
Think i still prefer the powerwhip because it lets u dodge 2 sec faster, and in those 2 sec u could also attack and slightly make up for the little difference in dps
(but ofcourse it wouldn't be stronger in DPS in total, but i think its worth (and don't got another good tangela ^^ ))

Tangela- Great Pokémon for training gyms loaded with high level Vaporean, my 1250 Tangla easily take out a 2700cp vaporean providing correct dodging. Got huge buff as my Tangla was at 984.

Depends on how much damage you can do while dodging. Dodge too much and you end up not killing within the time limit. You should test out different strategy to see what works for what pairing. Quick x2 and dodge, or Quick x5, take 1 hit and dodge the next, or Quick all the way, 1 charged attack, and Quick x2 and dodge, etc. etc.

Scyther is going to evolve when Gen2 comes out so I'd wait until then, evolve one and power up if a good moveset.
