When do the daily coins reset?

I live in the eastern time zone. One day i went to bed at 11:54 P.M. and i checked my gym and it still had 6 mons inside. When I woke up at 7 am the next day i received 50 coins for my pokemon, but at 7 pm the same day I got 50 coins for another one. I don't think my guy died at midnight, so when's the latest time such that you won't receive coins for yesterday's coin limit?
