Losing connection while catching a raid boss

So yesterday I lost connection while trying to catch a tyranitar. It had 2083 CP. The highest I saw so far.. Should be around 92 %. Not having a higher larvitar I was happy to catch this guy.

I lost connection and when I reentered it only had 2023 :(( It ran away in the end. But still..

Is it usual to change IV's when connection is lost?

On the good side, I got again 3 fast TM's and 1 charge TM. Just like my previous raid.

Sorry for bragging but I dont even have a Pokemon I need to use them on :'D
