What business does Chinchou have in 10k Eggs?
This one seems pretty out of left field. Off the top of my head some better choices would have been:
Sneasle
Grimer
Doduo
Tangela
Regionals
Or even keeping Gligar
Chinchou, at least in my area is more common than all three of the duds that were removed combined. It just doesn't make sense.

I'm 3 hours from the sea, I've caught 60 of them. I've never seen a porygon, only hatched two--walked the rest. That would be more reasonable to me. If they really need chinchou to be there b/c there is nothing else of value--maybe hatch it at level 25. It would upset purists, better that than upsetting most everyone else
Chinchou may be common for you MysticBossFred, but it is extremely rare for some of us, including me. Thus, from my perspective, it's eminently sensible to have them hatch from 10km eggs and I am delighted with the prospect of hatching them. On the other hand, Dratini are very common near where I live, but I understand that this isn't so for many players, so I would never suggest it's stupid to put them in 10km eggs.
You have have to look at these decisions from a wider perspective than just the area in which you live.
Speaking for myself, I'm not arguing that Chinchou shouldn't be in an egg at all. I'm actually surprised it wasn't already. My issue is the low-tier mon that Niantic puts into 10ks and relegates them to booby prize status. Pineco are extremely rare where I live (I think I've seen only one in the wild). But good lord, if I walk 10k to hatch another one, I might have a public tantrum. IMO, mon that will never be top tier, no matter how rare, should not be above a 5k egg.
With rare candies now and candies not being as rare IMO, I agree that 10km should only be the best stuff...Just make them never drop, but if they do, it'd be nice to get something "great"...
Sad that Chansey, Snorlax, Lapras aren't that "great" anymore IMO...(just hatched a Chansey and could care less)...
I also don't think I care about Snorlax raids neither now...
Chanseys have some value, people still don't like to park 30min in a church parking lot to knock down a full legit gym. That gives you some coins, some spinning bonuses, some raid bonuses, etc. I have never complained about hatching a mareep, I will complain every time I hatch a chinchou. Lanturns are below the mendoza line.
I have evolved at least 20 Lanterns, Chinchou as common as Slowpokes & Magikarps where I live so was v surprised at the change. Reading the comments tho it is not the case for others, would it be so hard for them to taylor the eggs to suit specific regions? Mantine & Sudowoodo extremely common around here too. Bad 10km hatches shouldn't happen imo, they just piss people off, my kids want to delete the game when out pops another Gligar, Pineco, Sudowoodo or Mantine!! Not sure what they'll do if they get a Chinchou!!!
Back when Lanturn was a top-tier prestiger it MIGHT have made some sense. Now, it is just stupid. I bet incubator sales have plummeted. I haven't bought one since the rework and I used to run a ton of incubators.
Really, only larvitar and dratini candy are worth it now for me and it would probably be cheaper to just get that candy from raids.
