First TM!!!

Defenders are really irrelevant nowadays. Any 1600+ CP can be a defender in the current meta, since there's no point in keeping a mon for a long time. If I were you, I'd use future Tms on Elite attackers, like Iron tail or Fire Blast Tyranitars, Steel Wing or Hyper Beam Dragonites and Mud Slap or Earthquake Golens.
1600? The other day I was a passenger in the car, and passed a gym of my team with a vacancy in it. Pressed buttons to get someone in, was in recent mode, and ended up putting a CP 150 Sentret into it. Got it back 3 days later, with 50 coins, and transferred it to the professor.
Defense is irrelevant until Niantic changes things up. Any old mon is fine. Pidgeotto and Raticate work great, and toss them on return.

Joke? If so you stink at comedy. But if you are serious... You are very confused. Slowbro is a great defender. Granted at the moment it doesn't make much of a Difference. But that will not be permanent. So just either stop your bad jokes or stop giving bad advice, centered around the current meta that will probably change very soon. So to rap it up... ""Good Day!""
I thought your advice was great the way I took it is he wasted a fast TM. Which is 100% accurate. Slowbro has just as much relevance in the game as a defender as a pidgey right now, and that's practically what he had in the old gym scene too, no relevance. I have a level 30 C&IB slowbro from catching a wild slowpoke and evolving. Even if slowbro does eventually have relevance as a defender (which I could see happening cas he is a good defender) it still isn't smart wasting a TM on him when their are just much better canidates out there. It's too easy to accumulate 50 candies.
I can't believe you wasted the most difficult item to get on a damn 91% slowbro that's way under level 30. Atlesst if you powered him up way above 30 and regretted it it woulda made sense a little but I still would not have encouraged it. Your wasting the hardest item in the game on a mediocre mon that is easy to get. 50 candies you coulda tried again. What happens when you do evolve a ttar or catch one that get iron tail and crunch. Or you evolve a Dnite w sw and outrage. Or a machamp w bullet punch and DP. Or a blissey w psychic. Or when the legendary mons come out what if you get a shitty Moveset. You shoulda asked here before you did it I think everyone would have warned you not to. Your brag post is just turnin into a "I feel bad for this guy" post. I mean, it's only a slowbro.
For one I live in a Desert Biome... I have not seen a Slowpoke in several months. Two he is one of my favorite mons and I try to actually enjoy the game and not just take it so seriously. Three he is a Great defender and even tho defence is a joke right now that will obviously not be permanent. And anyone with more than half a brain should know that. Four my 97% Dragonite has DT/OR and I only have 27 larvitar candies. Plus I am not in a raid group so no Tyranitar raids either. I my not be the highest level but I am certainly not a noob. If this was a bad choice I would know. Also as I mentioned earlier my only raid relevant mons all have great fast moves. So my only other real option was a 89% Ursaring with MC/HB. So I think I made the right choice.
I think Gamepress disagrees:

Not only Slowbro wasn't a top defender before, he even got worse, so It doesn't look like you actually knew what you were doing when you used your TM, even if you had no other candidate rigth now, you are probably gonna regret using this TM on a Slowbro (91% IV's even, not bad but not that great either) down the line.
He wasn't a Top Defender because of his CP. He has great bulk and a STAB confusion plus IB is now even more potent against Dragonite. So in my opinion he is still great because yes his counters are strong but everyone has a strong counter that is how the game works. Also that article is a little iffy I was not impressed when I read thru it. They made some good points but still. And article that says someone is a bad defender because his single weakness got worse. While also saying that Dragonite is a Top Defender... well it is a load bull sh*t.
