Teir 4 Raid-Tyranitar

So recently I was able to be in a Tyranitar raid. Their were only 3 of us so of course we didn't beat it... But we did about 55-65% of its health with just us Three.

1.Me lvl30

2.Brother lvl28

3.Random Dude lvl28

Also all of us only had one machamp and I was the only one with a 2x Fighting Ursaring. So is Tyranitar that much easier than Lapras. Because when it was me my brother and two others between 26 & 28 we only took him down to about 35-40% health. So any explanation? Why was the Tyranitar so much easier?
