Is Gengar still useful?

I have a 89 ivs Gengar with Shadow Claw / Sludge Bomb at 2331 cp and was thinking about using a charge tm to maybe get Shadow Ball (but instead used it to get Future Sight on my Espeon c: ) is Gengar useful in raids or as a good generalist? I really like my legacy ghost but i dont know if it worth it

What's wrong with sludge bomb? I'm jealous of your shadow claw. I have a couple Vastly and Haunters that I just can't take to the next stage because I feel like its moves are whack.

Yes! Keep shadow claw, try to get shadow ball as charge move.
- top vs. Alakazam (but not Alakazam with shadow ball :) )
- top vs. himself in raids (but also dies faster than usual)
- serviceable vs. Vaporeon and Blastoise
- if not enough Psychics, serviceable vs. Machamp (also immune to his fight moves)
