Maxing out attackers besides the big guns

I know everyone powers up Trex, Dragonite etc but I am thinking of pushing these candidates to level 36 looking for thoughts or if it's wasted dust
1. Scizor FC/XS 87% A15 lv 30
2. Gengar SC/Ball 93% lv 31
3. Alakazam PC/P 87% lv 32
4. Alakazam PC/FS 82% lv 30 caught him wild at lv 26 and figured not much dust to get to fight ability
5. Golem 91% RT/SE lv 32

What use is Gengar? Machamp sure, but he is easy enough anyway with Flying Dragon. Feels like Snorlax is a better Ghost attacker.

I also would like to know, Gengar has high dps but is so weak to counter Alakazam and is not super effective in any other raid boss

I'd definitely do #5.

I'd do 4 and 5. Scizor is helpful vs psychics as well (and 2x SE vs exeggutor) so he may be worth it. Gengar would be just a fun attacker and helpful in some situations, but his poison typing really hurts him.

I'd probably do 5 too, just so versatile in raids right now. I'd be tempted by that scizor though. I have a scizor that's next on the list to go to level 30. How are you liking him against alakazam bosses?

Even at lvl 20 he can solo a Exeggutor boss, and it's a fun move set to use

Scizor is a monster vs Eggs/Psychics he just needs to evolve powered high. Same with Gengar at lower levels he is useless but powered up he does massive damage to neutral targets ( I dodge all easy with him SC flows so nice).

I heavily recommend boosting a VW/SB Venusaur or something close to it if you can find one...they really handle Vaporeon/Rhydon very quickly! Venusaur also tanks better than Jolteon does vs Vaporeon and has surprising DPS for its bulk. The palm tree does a fairly good job at being bulky while still outputting damage as well. I also recommend a Scizor with a steel moveset, as the coverage against Ttar and Dnite isn't resisted.
