Sharing the positive

Okay. We all have been complaining a lot. Lets just get over it (except the 50 coin thing seriously!) is there anything post update that has been good for you that you'd like to share with the community.

My best occurrence happened today. I pulled two charge TMs and used one on my 100% Hitmontop and got what I was looking for first try! Going to power this bad boy up all the way to 1908 lol!

The real question is can I do it with common candy alone?

I like how this update has forced players to come together; I enjoy this aspect more than almost anything the new update has to offer.

I also like what they have done to the damage multipliers. I frequent Pokémon showdown and knowing the type advantages without being able to fully benefit from them (before the change) was very frustrating.

joined a chat to share information on raids has been kinda fun. Got a good t-rex. gyms have settled down, I can stay in long enough to get my coins now. Still think the system is even more cheater friendly then the old one though

Former rivals are friends now. We agree to take down each others gyms, to be sure of our payout of 50 coins a day.
I need my rivals to do bigger raids too, there is a Whats-Up-Group for raiding here, over all colors.

Peace on earth and good will toward men like

Only one question: With no rivalry remaining wherefore do i need my highly educated fighters, who now have optimal moveset? I doubled my squads power in three days, what are my new goals?

I like raids. Raids are OP.

I don't like what raids have done to the game as a whole but yeah I like raids. Could do them all day.

I really like raids. I've always been a solo player as I don't have many friends who also play. I have gotten to know some other players through raids and we have now even started a group and go out raiding together.

Unpopular opinion--I like that raids can give us access to certain mon. It's nice to be able to participate in something and get a chance to catch something of better value. Still have yet to get a tyranitar, and with a future raid, maybe I'll finally have one!

I love that any gym is worth interacting with to build up your atlas and to advance gym badge status. Gyms that were previously rival stongholds are now worth at least taking a swipe at to move to bronze status and get stop bonus.

Learning is fun, so the change has forced me to look at lineup of 'mons and make decisions on what to use and who to power up.

Not exactly related to the update itself, but I've finally found enough Gastly to evolve my 93% Haunter (Hugh Mungus) into a Gengar. His charge move is Sludge Bomb though, but I'm not going to reroll until I get a 100% Gengar, even though I have a Charge TM.

Also, got back all of my pokes. Time to kick some more people out of gyms tonight.

My 12-year-old son, who lost interest long ago, is finally interested in playing again - he loves raids. (He's level 26, I'm 35, and we had fun taking on an Arcanine boss).

Without casual and new(er) players the game cannot survive and this aspect, of getting them interested (again), they obviously got right.

This is true, but after you've done your 10th, 30th, 50th raid, I think the newness has worn off and we are back to where we were, but now, there is even less of an end goal for everyone...

I don't disagree the raids are new/fun when you do them and the new gym setup are for casuals and non-hardcore players to get stuff they would've never have gotten...(heck, I have no gyarados, no t-rex, got 1st dnite at 34, etc...) but that doesn't change the fact for a lot of heavy spenders/players (NOT me), they have no reason anymore to grind for levels, walk buddies, get rare mons via hatching since raids are better for that...

People critical of the "whiners" need to realize that as well that in a month, Niantic may lose the hardcore people, but the casuals get bored easy so they will be gone too...

All that said, I still play and classify myself as a casual as well since I'm free2play, only play during my dog walks and running errands, but tilting the game too far in 1 direction hurts probably the heavy spenders since there is now very little reason to spend on anything in the store other than raid passes...

Potions and revives aren't needed neither since I don't need to prestige daily...I've been tossing revives out by the tens/hundreds now since you can get a lot from a raid boss.

The social aspect of this game is back, though I expect it to be short-lived.
