In terms of pokémon choices at which IV would you keep them or transfer ?
I'd like to have an idea, currently I've been keeping 90+ IV pokémons to use them in gyms (if they have A grade defensive movesets) and 85+ IV pokémons to be used in attacking gyms (if they have the best attacking movesets) .I know it's a tough way to go but i'm grinding.What's your opinion guys? Am I doing it wrong ? I'd be happy if you share your opinions on this...
note:I also keep 88.9 IV defensive pokemons with the best defensive movesets though even if they are not above 90%.
Depends on how common they are as well as level. If it's common stuff it has to be at least 37/45 (the highest stats appraisal).
If the pokemon is also very low level it would have to be even higher to be worth the stardust investment.
Top tier stuff I would keep regardless. No point transferring them when there are pidgeys / weedles / rattatas that need transferring. When trading comes out there's probably someone out there who'll want your low level and/or bad moveset top tier pokemon.
Well if I'm out, then it just has to be the best overall appraisal (82% IV or above), and then I'll check the exact IVs when I get home to see if it's still worth keeping.
If it's below 82% then it has to have one 15 IV stat or 2 stats with 13-14 IVs.
If it's a low level pokemon it needs to have like at least 42/45 IVs, and then if it's evolvable, also a good moveset.
Also depends on Pokemon. I have a 15A 14D 1S Dragonite that I'm not going to transfer, but if it was a Pidgey it'd have to have 42/45 IVs, plus if I evolve it to Pidgeot and it doesn't have Wing Attack + Hurricane I'm still going to transfer it, unless it's 100% IVs in which case I'm hoping that in the future there are ways to reroll movesets.
I usually keep high IV Pokemon or high level Pokemon, both with usable movesets of course. Very high CP pokemon, regardless of their IVs, can be very usefull, especially if they are good for attacking (like my level 30 but 30% Lapras which I use to either attack or drop in a gym). My rule of thumb is to only power up pokemon with IVs of 89% or higher (40/45 IV sum) and even then I sometimes skip them if their CP is just too low and I can find a stronger one (common stuff life Pidgey, Ekans, Mankey, Paras...)
Preferably yeah I usually keep good IV/good moveset pokemons, but you know it differs when it comes to gym level scaling, in my town in gyms you do see tough competition for a pokemon in gyms in terms of how much their cp is, ofc that is not the only reason i'M playing this game for ( e.g I'm not powering up attacker exeggutor for the sake of high cp barrier) I want to have elite gym defenders with good IVs that's why I do have some high IV defenders (like 95IV Ice punch poliwrath and 100% IV water pulse vaporeon) :) thanks for contacting.
