Tried to solo a Jolteon, but my team is not ready for it.

Had this team (in absence of my best fighters who are still stuck in gyms):
Rhydon - RS/EQ
Rhydon - RS/SE
Kabutops - MS/AP
Houndoom - FF/FB
Nidoking - PJ/EQ
Umbreon - FA/DP

Went all-out no dodge, and when it ended up at Umbreon, it timed out on me while the Jolt had a bit under 50% HP.

Team needs more ground types, higher level, better movesets, and maybe a Dragonite.

Your Rhydons need mud slap is all. Kabutops is a controversial choice being weak to electric. Umbreon doesn't bring much to the table here. Houndoom might serve but you probably could find a better choice.

My Golem is stuck in a gym (he has RT and EQ)
My Quagsire may not be a good tanker but he has MS.
I had no better pick than Kabutops for his MS and rapid attack animation. Otherwise I would have picked my top attacker Typhlosion (still stuck in a gym somewhere) in spite of having no advantage over the Jolt.
Way better choice would be to power up my Steelix if only he had EQ instead of freaking Crunch. A Steelix would probably be a little thorn for Jolt due to Steel/Ground. My Donphan with PR is also useless.

I'd recommend pure ground counters. Rhydon and golem are great since they are bulky and resist the electric attacks and can learn double ground moves. Hell, even use a sandslash since it gets double ground moves as well.
And those same rhydons and golems could work against the flareon and arcanine bosses too since they're weak to ground.

Would have been great if I had a MS/EQ Rhydon but instead I have 2 that have RS, and one lacks EQ.
My Golem has EQ but he's being kept hostage in a gym. My Donphan would have been good... if he had EQ.
Same about Steelix, instead he has IT/Crunch.
I'm trying to hatch a Sandshrew that has acceptable IVs to evolve into Sandshlash. A Piloswine with ground moves would be good too, and there are heaps of Swinub nests in a park near me, but sadly have yet to find a great one that evolves into a Pilo with Bulldoze. My current Pilo has IS/SE, was only good as a Dragonite counter.

Didn't you said you are under 30 lvl? Sorry, no can do even with best counters. Btw, I've seen a list where double ground rhydon is out dpsed by some gengars, dt/o dragonite, top flareon and top alakazam.
I also failed at a jolt with best try leaving him aroun 25% health. I'm higher lvl but my mons in that fight were only lvl 30-34. But I don't think would have worked with them even maxed. Like yours, only one move was super effective in most cases, except a sandslash, but he is weak for a raid no matter what.

Keep in mind lvl 3 raid bosses have a ton of hp, that is why you need DPSers. With ground combos on ground mons you can resist his hits but you will not take enough of his health. Olso on group raids if you will use ground types you will survive better but deal less damage, so maybe less balls (and even rewards maybe?).

Yeah, I'm under lvl 30 (26), tried to see just how strong Jolteon is (next test would be an Arcanine or Flareon, though the team might still get mopped. Hoping to get Kingler back by then). Didn't max out any of the mons in the list though, but was pretty nice getting at least at half of Jolt's HP with such a crappy team that was assembled quickly.
If only there was a 2nd player there, could have taken care of that other half of its hp. Though I'm still hoping that one day I'll hatch or catch a good enough Eevee to turn into a Jolteon, that's one of my favorites.
