TMs - do you need to capture the raidboss for them?

Do I have to capture the raidboss to have a chance of getting a TM? Do you always get a charge and a fast one? A fellow trainer captured a Tyrannitar and got 1 charge and 1 fast tm. I wasn't able to capture it and I got no TMs. Although, we both won against the same boss.

My friend and I both captured vaporeon yesterday on raid lvl 3. I got charged tm and he didn't so your specultion is not confirmed.

No, i ran out of balls and the Raid Boss Charizard runs off, but i get 2 Charge TM´s.

I believe it's not dependent on whether you catch the raid boss. Our family of three has taken part in two raids together (level 3 and level 4) and we all captured the boss both times but each of us got different items. My son got a Fast TM on the first, I got a Fast and a Charge TM on the second. Appears to be completely RNG

I defeated and capture snorlax and T-rex, both level 4 gym but didn't receive a single TMs. Super unlucky i guess..

Rewards are received after the battle before the bonus round. Catching the raid boss have no influence on the rewards.

What have influence on the rewards are your performance in the battle. Damage output, team controls the gym, team participation, etc
