Apparently yes. It just happened to me as well. The gameplay is now SO FKIN GLITCHY it takes ages and comsumes an ocean of potions to tear a gym down. It took me like 30 minutes, 25 revives and shitload of potions. I threw my mon in and went on. I came back like 5 minutes later so discover my mon (2,9k Snorlax) defeated, and some stupid 1,5k vaporeon there. I said nooo, I didnt waste so much for nothing. Went to kill vaporeon. Glitch. Glitch. Lag.Lag. Glitch. Lag. Lagged glitch. Glitched lag. For fucks sake, it's so annoying. I killed it twice which took me like 3 or 4 minutes, started the third fight, killed it... JUST TO DISCOVER THAT THERE IS A 3,1K SNORLAX PLACED AFTER IT. I left the fight, took a look on the gym... AND NOT ONLY THERE WAS A BRAND NEW SNORLAX PLACED, BUT ALSO 3K GYARADOS, AND ALSO THE STUPID VAPOREON WAS FULLY HEALED. It happened like within 10 seconds. I don't know what were they thinking, but it's a joke. The whole update is AWESOME, I love it, but the laggs and this stupid gym managment is absolute trash.
Can someone add pokemon to a gym while you're fighting it?
Was just fighting a gym and getting really close to defeating it. Suddenly instead of what I thought was the last pokemon in the gym there was a 3k Dragonite that I had not prepared for in my line up. I was either lazily trying to finish off the gym and not paying attention or is it possible to add a new pokemon while someone is mid battle? Anyone with friends of different teams able to test this?

Yeah I've experienced the glitches and lag with health bars fluctuating and what seems like the dodge bug. I'm just wondering if the sudden surprise pokemon that you aren't prepared for is something that is working as intended or just a result of this update being new and usual kinks. I think the hype of the update may highlight the annoying aspects at the present time since so many people are out playing. Edit: I'm pretty sure it's unintended because when taking a gym with a partner the second person trying to add has gotten an error message saying the gym was under attack... and that's when we're on the same team. I'm assuming it's a bug for now.

Probably because the game is fighting a second, simultaneous battle with a slight delay: look at your damage and energy jumping back and forth, and that of the opponent. You just fired your special move? That opportunity returns already just after you fired it!
