Finally got a Pineco to evolve into a Forretress with StruggleBug/HeavySlam... lets hope his defensive stats, and high resistance, gets him a nice little added CP

I don't see how they eliminate CP when that's mostly why you power up.
That's not why I power up. I do it because I genuinely believe it makes attackers more effective by increasing their attack, defense, and HP stats. I know this runs counter to the beliefs of many other posters, but I strongly disagree with them.
Same. I play on a Samsung S5, and occasionally have serious lag issues due to either the old phone hardware or bad reception. Because of that, I fairly regularly encounter the dodge bug, so I power up my most used attackers fairly high. More HP + more DEF means I have a higher chance of surviving a dodge bug, and more ATT means I have a higher chance of defeating the defender before the bug rears its head.
