Defensive dragonite

Evolved my first dragonite this evening. Has 14/15/15 iv's. And I got steel wing and hyper beam. I know not ideal but is it still worth powering up? I already have quite a few elite defenders.

Seriously, that moveset is 2nd best defending and better than most of the defenders in tier 1.5 with their best movesets, AND its 98%-ish IV? People would go crazy for that, this isn't even a real question lol.

Power it up, its the 3rd best move. Dragon Claw is actually better than Hyper Beam for defense cuz HB is the easiest charge attack to dodge in the game and doesnt have STAB, but your dragon still a beast with SW and massive stats.

Dodging isn't difficult at all. When you assume one move gets 75% reduced damage you could say any charge move is better than it.

It really depends on how often you can restock on dratini candies and whether or not you plan on playing till you're max level. If you have the candies to spare, go ahead and do it. Besides the game is all about keeping high CP Pokémon in gyms at the moment, so a 97.8% IV dragonite will usually top most gyms.

If you walked it as your buddy you will probably have a hard time keeping it powered up. If you have dratinis around, go for it.

All the movesets on any of the pokemon are all easily dodged. I dont really understand hard to dodge, some are punishing some are not but all are easily dodged. SW is a move that must be dodged unlike lick or bite so its a good pokemon especially since the CP potential. It aint pretty fasho but its gonna be hellla effective. However if you think you will have extra exceptional IV dragonites/snoralax/lapras riding the bench then dont power it up.
