Is this Polywrath useable?

Hey Guys,

I just evolved a Poliwrath, but it has a very bad moveset. Because I live in a rural area, it is hard for me to get good pokemon as well as much candies. (I am LV25 with 120 pokedex registratins, but I have never seen a Snorlax, Lapras or Dragnite, even no Dratini or Dragonair...)

The Polywrath has a IV of 91% (Atk + Def: 26/30, Sta: 15/15) and it is currently Lv 20.
The Moveset Mud Shot and Ice Punch is rated as F for attaking as well as defending Pokemon.

So my question is, what can I do with this Polywrath... Can I still use it or is it worth no more than the single candy I get for dispatching it?

Thanks in adcance!

If I listened to the advice some people like to give on this site, I might have concluded that my Poliwrath with Mud Shot / Submission was unusable. Turns out he's my favorite Snorlax counter. Admittedly, Mud Shot is weak but it builds your charge attack quickly.
My advice to you is don't ask for people's advice on which Pokémon to keep - take it to a gym, battle with it, see how it performs against Pokémon that are weak to Ice Punch, and don't forget to spam your charge attack as often as you can (it should be pretty often with a quick move like Mud Shot).

I hope it works well for you. My Poliwraths are some of my favorite fighters, although I haven't gotten to try one with Ice Punch yet

The problem with this mon (I have the same moveset (mud shot/submission)) is that attacking Snorlax with it is too slow and even though Snorlax won't knock you out (with dodging), you also can't win the fight in 99 seconds...

I've tried against 2500+ CP Snorlax with my 1200 CP Poliwrath and it's just too slow...back to my 1400 Vap w/ AT...

Mudshot isn't awful - it just takes time to win battles. I wouldn't despatch it, but I wouldn't invest too much stardust in it.

Mudshot makes it just another average attacking Pokemon. Bubble makes it a defensive beast at high levels.

Mudshot won't make it horrible, it still has good base stats, but you would just be missing out on what makes poliwrath special. There's something cool about poliwrath and slowbro being a lower cp and still being so tough in gyms.
