Should Battles Won affect power up?

I have 4 pokemon with Battles Won > 0. I have noticed that I have a tendency to want to power them up, even though with their move set and IV's they may not "deserve it". For example, I have a level 30 Dragonite with SW/HyperBeam and 82% IV's with "Battles Won:1". Normally I wouldn't power him up, but I am tempted. Do others power up their "Battles Won" mons?

All the credit probably goes to its lower-dwelling gym-mates and the dodge bug. But it feels like a trophy regardless.

Battles Won is the least concern af the stats that are displayed. There isn't even a true explaination of exactly what it means, and it has no use.
I have a friend who took over a gym, and put his D'nite in it. Then he has his 6 year old daughter attack the gym with nothing but pidgeys. Of course he beat all 6, and got a "Battles Won". He claimed that he was "testing a theory" about it.
A few days later, I saw his D'nite in a different gym, and it had 8 Battles Won. Ever since then, I've gone out of my way to kick his ass out of every gym that I see that D'nite in!

^ I agree with this!

OP: let's say you had 3 blisseys and 2 snorlaxes, 2 gyarados, and a rhydon all sitting below that dragonite. By the time an attacker gets to your dragonite, they will have taken a fair amount of damage and are more susceptible to being beaten by it, due to the fact that the attacker's squad has taken a beating. For all we know, the 3 blissey's prior may have each dealt more damage, but because your dragonite is sitting where it is, it just so happens to KO the attacker's remaining pokemon

No, my pokemon with the most battles won are a slowbro w/ps and poliwrath b/hp.
But the lower pokemon in the gym probably killed most of the attacking team, so it wouldn't be fair to give a bonus to battle won.
