Hatch 10km eggs or wait?

Hi guys,

I have 7 10km eggs and i wonder if i should wait for a summer event(probably i will have to hatch at least 1 because i will have stock 9 10km eggs until then)
or buy incubators and hatch them when i reach 8-9

-Sorry if my english is bad

Why wait? The Pokémon inside those eggs are already set the moment you get them. For double candies? I believe it only affects the eggs caught during the event.

If i am not wrong i got double candies from all eggs during Valentine event.

Double candies, double dust and double xp in case if it happen will apply to all eggs you start incubating after the event has started, no matter when you picked them. The only thing that won't change is the mon you will get, for example if they increase Snorlax from 10k eggs will be from the ones picked after they made the change, the egg mon is determined when you picked them, the rest no.

I personally would hatch them but if you have some 10k from easter week I would save it in case a double candy comes, during that week 10k hatches were better. I have 7 10k eggs too, but 2 of them from easter, I will hatch 5 and save the easter ones just until the next event.

Also has worked for me leaving always in my bag at least one 10km egg, making it faster to get more. I know that it should be purely RNG but if it has worked for me in the past why not keep doing it?

That's a good idea! Thank you!
I also think that leaving one 10km egg, making it faster to get more because i got those 7 eggs during 2 weeks.
About 7/30 was 10km eggs.

Yeah is something a bit strange, probably it does not work for a lot of people but for me personally leaving in my bag some 10k always gets me more faster than having it full of 5k or 2k, not a huge difference but definetely a noticable one. Before I started doing this I could get like 50 eggs before a 10k popped, but now I get them much faster leaving always at least one of them in my bag. I know that with gen2 release 10k became more common, but I notice this pattern sometime before that change.

I really hope a 2x dust or 2x candy comes during the following months, probably for the one year anniversary event? Dreaming is free :D

That's new. Didn't really pay attention to it. Still... I'd incubate them when I feel like it. Makes room for more eggs. I mean... Yeah you have 9 10k eggs and you waited for an event. Who knows you could've hatched another 9 10k batches because you freed egg space. I'd only wait if the event is near AMD announced.

i build a store o 6 10km eggs and then rotate through the remaing 3 spots using and incubator i i get further 10 km eggs.

Incubate them one by one along with whatever crap is in your infinite incubator. I've heard mass hatch often brings disappointment, while this way you'll have a surprise waiting for you every day or two.

i alaways walk them right away. youBCan wait for double event but usually it will be just double mantine or something? but if nit it can be always some good pokemon that will be useful right here and now and always aditional space for other eggs

There is a method for hatching or saving for events that optimizes your hatches but it actually is based on how well you earn coins. I have seen some accounts on here where eggs are being saved while the account has well in excess of 10K coins saved. This is a very sub optimal use of resources.

First, you need to decide what is the least amount of coins you need to optimize your hatches for an event at any one time. This would likely be the coins needed to hatch all of your eggs at once for the event or 8 incubators. Add to that how many incubators you would want to also purchase during a good event. Whatever this number is for you all coins over and above that should be spent to cycle eggs through no matter what type they are. Getting rid of 5K eggs is spending to acquire 10K eggs. Having a logjam in your inventory is wasted opportunity cost for the acquisition of mons you want. The exact math is very specific to your particular math and what you earn. I could do the math for anyone willing to supply that information though and help anyone build a setup that is best for them.

This is likely true and it is something I used to do. I had a good rotation going spending my coins buying 2-3 incubators every couple days.

But I decided recently to get my inventory full of 10km eggs. Something I had never done before. I think previously 5 or 6 was my most. I only need 1 more 10km egg to finally get 9.

I will say this though, I have stock piled a TON of coins as a result of saving up over the last 3 weeks. It did help me though to max out my storage spaces, something I was having trouble doing before as it was all going to incubators.

As for the original posters question - I'm not saving my eggs once I get 9. Even the ones I collected during Easter. I'm hatching them and can't wait to see what I get.

After that I'm going back to a more optimal use of the coins/resources.
