I though that moveset was less effective than most current moves?

It depends; how many other machamp do you have? If you have evolved some since the moveset update/gen2 release and have yet to acquire a C/CC or C/DP (both of which have superior cyclical dps) then it maybe worth investing. There is a 1/3 chance of achieving a machamp with dual fighting moves.

If you have a fair number of candies and have yet to evolve another, it may be worth it. As the majority of the other people have commented it might not be worth powering it up because it's the FOURTH and lowest ranked of the movesets machamp gets where both moves are fighting.

On the flip side, karate chop is a little faster than counter (for some dodging match ups) and generates energy faster. Cross chop would be more ideal as it deals 10 less damage per attack (before stab and multIpliers) but it whips it out in 1.6s, v.s. Submission's 2.2s.

It's up to you dog

I have one at 2k and left him unlevelled. I use him to lead into big blisseys and finish with flareon but I would not waste candy on him I just keep going hoping for a better one (another failed attempt last night)

maybe just take it to level 30 depending on its current level. i have one at level 20 from a hatch (1392 CP) that i use pretty regularly as a Blissey/Snorlax prestiger

i had a karate chop / cross chop and i asked if i should maxed out and every one said no , also submission is a slow move i honestly dont like it ( i wouldnt invest much in it even if it is the only one you have ) also blissy have lots of other matches , machamp is not a must have by all means

I have a Machamp with KC/Sub and 1 with C/DP, KC/Sub is way worse, but not unplayable. But personally i wouldn't max it.
