My 93% Dragonite finally came with SW :( What should I do ?

Hey guys, well, finally my 93% Dratini ended up with Steel Wing. I'm really pissed to be honest, since I'm kind of an attacker player than a defensive one.

The only "good" thing is that it also came with Dragon Pulse, which makes the whole moveset the best for defense.

What should I do ? Should I keep my other Dratini as my buddy to keep collecting candies so I can max it out ? O just leave it in the bag ?

Its around 1980CP, lvl 20 (it was hatched) and it would need 17 power ups to reach my max level. I have the dust, that's no problem. But I'm really pissed with the Steel Wing thing haha.

Please help me!

Seriously!? Man!!! You have the best defensive Dragonite so you should power it up to the max. In the Gym you should have the highest CP possible in order to be at the top.
- The higher the CP your the least to get kicked out in the gym = you will last in the gym longer = you can collect daily coins.
- If you have 93% IV that means you can achieve higher CP compared to those who have lower CP (not to mention even a "LOW IV" Dragonite still has higher MAX CP compared to other Pokémon's that has 100% IV).
- And lucky you are to have a Ranked A defensive move set that will crush your opponents. You should max it out.

"Being an attacker does not really need high CP, in fact you can train gym faster and get more prestige if you have lower CP, and even with lower CP you can always win a battle provided that you have the Element Advantage & you can Dodge with your Ranked A offensive move set".

So...it has extremely high cp, perfect def moveset, literally the best base stats and you're not happy? Attackers are easy to come by, defenders are not.

You don't want super high cp for attackers, so IV doesn't really matter for them anyways.

Thanks guys, I needed those comments.

Yeah, I know I should appreciate the moveset I got. In fact I have a ton of specific type attackers already.
Thing is I really wanted a Dragonite with DB to be my 'primary' attacker as I love the way he looks in battle.

But well, Dratinis are kind of weird in my area, and if it wasn't for the 10km hatch and the Halloween event, I would be still waiting in order to get a Dragonite.

Anyways, I wil try to walk as much as I can until the Halloween event is over so I can max it out. I will have to change my mind and see my Dragonite as a perfect defender, instead of wanting him to be the perfect attacker as I expected lol.

I train against my dragonite with sw/dp quite a bit and it is extremely strong. I like them more than snorlaxes personally. Snorlaxes are a tiny bit overrated.

I suggest not to fully power it up: save your precious dratini candies for the next evolution.

Just try to raise its CP in order to be in good position in a long lasting gym, according to the average CP in gyms around you (e.g. 2.300-2.600 CP). Save the rest of the candies!

It's a Dragonite, not a Pidgey. Even with SW, it can do a good job atking gyms. At the moment, it's the defensive moveset which matters since you don't need good pokes to destroy gyms. Also in the future, it's possible that Niantic let trainers change the moveset.
