More candy for new eggs... really?
Is anybody else disappointed with the amount of candy for the 2 km eggs hatched during the event? For me the average is only 6 or 7 candy for each 2 km eggs...

Normally you would get
2 km eggs: 5 to 15 candy
5 km eggs: 10 to 21 candy
10 km eggs: 16 to 32 candy
(https://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/276005/how-many-candies-do-you-get-for-every-2k-5k-and-10k-egg)
It seems that the pokemon that shifted to 2k eggs also get candies for 2k eggs. So 5k's get 5-15 instead of 10-21 and 10k's get 5-15 instead of 16-32.
So that is actually a drop in the amount of candies you're getting. On top of that many players are feeling like the amount of candies isn't even doubled. Double candy would make up for the lost candies by shifting to 2k eggs (which would mean the candies stay around the same range for several pokemon). But if that's not working, then it really does seem like you get less candies than normal for 5k and 10k pokemon.
Personally I've hatched 4 togepi during the event. I'm @ 99 candies now. I don't know how many candies I had precisely but I know for a fact I had at least 50, because I was able to evolve one. I think it was more around 55. Anyway let's say I had 50 that means I got 49 candies out 4 eggs. That's around 12 candies per egg... That could only be doubled from the 2 k range when I get almost the lowest amount of candy per egg. Lets say I would get 6 per egg, double that and I got 12. So perhaps bad luck for me. But I'm getting few candies on all pokemon.
Anyway, because the rarity of pokemon in eggs shifted for the event I still find it enjoyable hatching a great variaty of eggs. I got some great hatches with special high IV pokemon. That's what's interesting this event, not the amount of candies you're getting (at least for me and it seems the case for many others too).
Edit: If anyone can prove me wrong I would like to know it:)
Anyone on this thread grateful that you get slightly more candies per 2k egg?
Let's see.... nope, not a single one.
Anyone grateful that you can potentially hatch 3x Dratinis with 2k eggs and get more candies than with an old 10k?
Nope, not a single fella here.
Dunno what to do with y'all, really.
Sometimes I don't envy Niantic. Implement extra candies.... complain. No candies... also complain.
Niantic is not a charity we all know that, they are running a bussiness so I think we don't have to be grateful with them, we are customers and we have the rights to give feedback and say what we like and not about the product.
This event either you like it or not ( and I like it a lot), is made to get more money from incubators and half price lucky eggs, they have not give ANYTHING for free, they could have made a free lucky egg or incubator each first spin of the day, or during the 7th streak to add something "free", and like the thread says, even the event being amazing, the amount of candies is so small that they should not have announced it on the event notes.
They just made that point of "you will get extra candy too", to make people buy more incubators, just a claim, nothing more, in practice if the range goes from 5-15 and now it is 7-17 for example 99% of the players won't see any difference at all. And you can't deny that. That was just a marketing guy saying how can we make them buy more incubators at least until they realize that there is no real candy difference?
Firstly, Dratini's aren't coming from 2km eggs...Neither is Larvitar now either.
Since I still only need gym defenders, that's all I care about currently...
I think the problem a lot of folks see is like life, everything is about expectations. They just should've not said anything about candies and left it as double exp and no one would have much complaints. Some would say they wished there was double candies, but since it wasn't happening, they would wait and just move on for now.
Saying you get more when more = 1 (-2) more when a 10km gives 16-32 is just a bad way to communicate things. Even a 2km egg giving 6-13 vs 5-10 isn't much unless you always get 13. With Pinaps in the game as well, getting 1-3 is still a pretty weak benefit even though it's still a bonus.
Yes, we all are glad there is "more", but since it's all about expectations, it's better to have just gave 0 extra and not mentioned it so people wouldn't be let down.
All that said, I am enjoying the double exp and already did 5 evolution parties with 2 more to go probably.
