Blissey defender power up?

Would you power up a lvl 18, 1535 cp, 56iv, 9/7/9 H/A/D. ZH/DG Blissey? I dont know or understand much about the gym dynamics, is this worth it?

Level 18 with 9h/7a/9d is 74 candy and 84,400 stardust away from level 30, where it will be 2559cp with 379hp.

As a comparison, a 100% IV Blissey at level 30 is 2759cp with 384hp. This 56% IV Blissey will need another 56 candy and 55,000 stardust to get to level 34.5 to have 2750cp and 393hp.

Thanks for the perspective and the info. I will likely wait for a better chansey. But given the poor iv and great moveset, would it be ok in a gym if I choose to invest in it?

Unless it's at the bottom of a gym that isn't a high level, any Blissey regardless of moveset is a useful defender. Putting a Blissey at the bottom of a gym makes that gym difficult to prestige up, while people on the opposing team can use however high CP Pokemon they have to take the gym down.

IVs make unnoticable difference in battle. Unless your Pokemon is maxed out you can get around low IVs by just powering up your Pokemon further. 2 Blisseys both with around 2500 CP will perform more or less the same, regardless of whether one has high IVs but a lower level or vice-versa.

If Chansey/Blissey is your current buddy, keep walking it, and once you have enough candies to power it up to a level where it can sit comfortably in gyms around your area, power it up if you have not found a better Chansey / Blissey by then.

Because then the "worst" case is that you get a Chansey / Blissey that's better, which means you now have 2 amazing defenders, which isn't a bad thing at all.
