Lick/HB Snorlax

Just hatched one, 14/10/15 (91 IV). I'm sure the answer is 'yes, power it up', but is it worth swapping my buddy to complete this project to level 30? Right now the candies I have (27) should get it to level 25.

Currently I use Larvitar as buddy. should I switch the Larvitar to the Snorlax to complete this project?

My situation with regards to the optimal 'big 4' buddy choices:

Dratini: I see them in the wild and have 2 dnites
Larvitar: Hatched two, but seen none in the wild, do not have Tyranitar
Chansey: Hatched two, seen none in the wild. Just evolved a Blissey. Do not wish to power it up.
Snorlax: Hatched 1 and seen 3 in the wild

Snorlax is a much more potent defender. How many candies until a T-Rex? Even when you get to that point you'll still need around 60 candies to power it up given it knows the right moves. Snorlax is safer, more ideal I think

I actually want him more as an attacker. Wanted a Pound/HB Blissey but failed on the evo, then I got gifted this Snorlax.

Not sure if Lick/HB will be of much use in a gym defender setting as I have a level 30 ZH/BS.

75 candies until the t rex (without powering it up lol)...maybe I should just test my luck in a desert biome one day

I'd say definitely go for the Snorlax then. It'll be a while till you get an attacking Tyranitar it looks like. Around 600+ km put in. By then you could've gotten the Lax to thirty and started up with Larvitar again

Do the Snorlax, you'll have your attacker much sooner. And if I remember corectlly gyms in your area turn around quickly, so in this case, when in need for a mon for a rare stable gym a lvl 30 high attack Snorlax will have a place around mid gym?

Good memory, I'm from Hong Kong but I'm moving back to college in London soon where gyms are more stable (used to be able to hold one for 2 weeks in Ldn instead of 20 minutes in HK)

Also means I need something dependable to attack a level 10 gym with (and my gengar trio suicide squad no longer works), instead of pitting these 3 jokers to a level 4 gym

L\HB is a better attacker, but will do ok as a defender. If it's you only decent lax, get it above L25 ASAP. Once it is gym-worthy (whatever that is around you), go back to the T-rex project.
