Snorlax with earthquake
I finally got lucky, kind of. Hatched a Snorlax today. 1735 cb and it came with 53 candies! O, and with Earthquake... I have been trying to justify to myself why I should level him up. Best thing I could come up with is that I am probably not going to get another Snorlax anytime soon and "all the skilled players" dodge the charge moves anyway, so it is not that much weaker defender, because the charge moves contribute to DPS only 1/4 of what is commonly calculated.
Can anyone come up with something better to facilitate my self-deception? :)

Earthquake is fine! You get hyper beam and people say "too easy to dodge" get body slam and "does less damage". Earthquake will do just fine.
They may do a balance someday anyway. Or add Pokemon and earthquake will be really handy for a common attacker. No matter what you have a snorlax and enough candy to make him a wall. Congrats.
It's a skewed perspective reading on forums and such though. It consists of hardcore players who know dodge timings, moveset ranks, damage formulas etc.
Most people just tap and dont dodge, or suck at dodging, or their phone sucks. Or there are people like me who likes to see the outcome of duking it out from matchups...I don't dodge on purpose. I used to, but I'd rather relax and smoke a cigarette and just watch. Body slam/eq/beam evens itself out over the player base I think.
I hear ya, Body Slam prolly best in my opinion cuz that's on ya quick. Pretty much have to swipe immediately after the notification. I think more than anything Snorlaxes moves are so easy to dodge because people don't often attack him with something with a type advantage to where the super effective overrides the attack notification. It's what makes Body Slam best since it happens so fast. Even if caught you still have time to recover on the others... Snorlax is a boss and powering any up is fine as long as you have the candies, but he's somewhat a victim of his own strengths... Even that said, I'll take 10 with any moveset!
