Machamp with C/DP at 30Lvl... should i max it??
i was blessed by the RNGoddesses with a C/DP Machamp that i've powered up to 2444CP at 30Lvl.
my question is: should i max it out (37.5Lvl) or keep it as is? candy and dust are not issues.
the reason i ask is because at its current level it tears through 3xxxCP snorlaxes like butter, but still does not fare well against 3xxxCP blisseys-- especially ones with ZH/DG or P. So i am wondering if maybe it is just still too weak and i need to keep powering it up in order to see benefits in the blissey matchup.
as a level 36 trainer i do have plenty of other elite attackers that can handle anything, so this machamp really is just a nice project to work on and i do consider myself extremely lucky to have rolled this moveset. thank you guys very much in advance for your opinions!

Usually powering up past 30 is not really a good investment, because in most cases it's better to have 2 good attackers at 30 rather than one attacker in the high 30s, but in this case it is, because if your level 30 Machamp struggles to down a level 35+ Blissey, then nothing else will do a better job either, as Machamp is the strongest counter to Blissey.
Plus you said dust and candies aren't an issue, and you already have plenty of elite attackers. Most players don't, which is why having 2 Pokemon at 30 is better for them. But if you find yourself constantly using the same 6-8 or so Pokemon to attack with, then powering up those Pokemon is going to be more useful than having another level 30 Pokemon that will rarely get used.
I would max it out without a blink of an eye since I feel my current blissey counters are not very satisfactory and an ideal counter like C/DP machamp is exactly what I need. If you already have other attackers that can handle high level blisseys, you have a lesser need to max out the machamp, but in terms of time efficiency, I don't think even dragonites or tyrannitars with ideal movesets can surpass machamp with C/DP.
This is all true...Machamp is simply the FASTEST Blissey destroyer...which is still slow, but saving 5 or 10 seconds every fight is worth it for someone with too much dust or Machop candies...
It'll help a ton too with Snorlax and maybe you can clean a 3000CP one out in 30 seconds...I think my Lvl 25 C/CC can do one in about 50 secs.
At your level and with no issues with dust or candies, I'd say you might as well since Blissey is always a time sink and taking less damage, doing possibly more damage (definitely more on charge move) is worth it since Blisseys are constantly being placed in gyms in my area...
Also, if your Machamp magically gets the next rounded up damage for a Counter, it could speed up a fight by a few actual seconds...
I think sims I ran didn't show it jumping, but who knows, against so many Blisseys, I'd guess some fights would be markedly faster...
Maxed Tyranitar with B/C/SE can melt Blissey with ZH/P/DG by just dodging charge moves. I have two level 30 Machamps with C/DP and rarely use it against Blissey because I use the Tyranitar. But I do use Machamps against snorlaxes. Rather have a maxed out Tyranitar than Machamp due to being a better generalist.
How is B/SE a better generalist than C/DP Champ? It's SE against 4 primary defenders in the current meta: Snorlax, Blissey, Rhydon, and Tyranitar. B/SE is a solid attacker into everything and not a specialist at anything since it's 2 diff type moves. I would def rather power up a C/DP at this current point and time.
B/SE being a Generalist as in gym sweeper. Can take out more mons than C/DP. Trust me. I had experience. Machamps are sort of a glass cannon. Also, Vapes are starting to disappear from gyms because not high enough CP. Meta slowly changing. Tyranitar free reign on gyms now. Only thing to watch out for is HP from Gary but with bite you can easily dodge it. Then smash Gary with a couple of SE
B/SE can take out more Pokémon I don't need to use it for. Ice is the quickest way to disperse of Nites and Electric w/ Gary. You also have to watch out for BS and So B and SB from Eggy. Those are more relevant than some would imagine. B/SE is a cool attacker to have, but when C/DP favors 4 matchups they are at worst equals but no way is B/SE superior.
I'm potion efficiency focused. Seem like you're time focused. Machamp can take out snorlaxes and Blissey's faster but it will lose a larger portion of its HP compared to Tyranitar.
And actually the fastest way to take out a Dragonite is with another Dragonite. Agree that electric is fastest way to beat Gary. BS is very easy to dodge for me because I dodge all quick moves so it's natural to dodge BS. SoB is rare in gyms in my area because Eggy's CP isn't high enough and don't see too many of those in gyms anymore. I hope the gym rework will encourage more diversity in gyms.
When I decide to attack a gym it's to take it all the way down. Therefore I try to use as few mons as possible to reduce switching attackers. Most of the time you will take those annoying damages during a switch. A mix of only Dragonites and Tyranitars in the line up is all that's needed to take out any level 10 gyms. A strategic composition of defenders placed by enemy trainers goes out the window when attacking with Dnites and Tys. This is kinda boring strategy to use the same attackers but it's efficient. If I want to have more fun, I will bring some specialists to spice up the battles.
I'm hoping to get bite on my next Tyranitar. Right now without that or a F/F Machamp, my favorites are DB Dragonite, Zen/Beam Exeggutor, and Bite/Pump Gyarados. Conf/Beam Exeggutor does deal damage, but can get caught by DG. My favorite is the Bite Gyarados, as Bite allows plenty of dodging opportunities. Bite Tyranitar will be fun.
I'm having a blast with my B/SE Tyranitar. It wrecks gyms almost as good as DB/DC Dragonites. And with most high level trainer/high level gyms don't need to worry about Vapes because nobody wants to be on the bottom with the lower CP. Just be careful of HP from Gyarados. But a couple of SE to its teeth it will be gone in no time.
