Wow, I can't say it really is a spoofer but the same 10 players have over 20 gyms (could be more but those are the ones I could see), all with blisseys and a trainer name pattern.
These all went up over night.
Does Niantic investigate stuff like this? It smells like a person with multiple accounts.
could be accounts which were bough, those were powered up by bots, they are flagged already if they do a massive ban wave again probably will be hit by it too
but who knows, niantic is very noob or are afraid in banning people, you can report, but do a well report, not just ''i was here he wasnt, ban him, thanks''
It is a cheater for sure, imposible to get 20 Blissey at a good level without cheating, you would need like 2k candy (probably more like 4k or more...). Imagine 10 accounts lol
And no, Niantic won't do anything about it, sorry to say it but not gonna happen, report it, but don't expect any action from them.
I know some people will say that Niantic bans cheaters, but at least for me it has not happened, and I have reported 7 players since launch and multiple times, they have slowly disappeared because gyms here are very active, there are few gyms and we don't let them take to level 10, but I know they are still around.
While I agree it's definitely some kind of botter / cheater doing this nonsense, it's definitely not impossible to have 20 Blissey playing legit.
It really all depends on biome. I remember seeing posts on Reddit from like Phoenix and southwestern cities in desert biomes where Chansey were just spawning everywhere during the Valentine's event. If someone farmed all day they could have enough Chansey candy to evolve 20, as the cost of 50 candies isn't incredibly high.
20 Blissey at a decent level playing legit? Only with Chansey spawning like Pidgey would have been posible. True that they cost 50 candies to evolve, but you still have to power them up and find the ones with good iv's to do so, I really doubt that those level 10 gyms the post is talking about are full of level 20 Blissey with around 1.8k CP or with Blissey less than 80%IV ;)
Chansey were spawning similar to Pidgeys during the Valentine's event in many desert biomes, such as my own. I know one guy who collected 1000+ candy. I stopped after ~100 Chanseys.due to issues with a completely running out of ultraballs/berries. You can also catch evolved Blisseys in desert biomes. That said I agree having 20 powered up Blisseys is unlikely, just not impossible.
The cheater I was facing had the exact same strategy you are describing, plus he was using volt strat to level up gyms.
I'm pretty sure he's banned now, as I only occasionally see one of his volt strat accounts around plus some other account called "stillplaying". He used to have the account patter Annoxxxx where x is a random number.
