I'm curious too, after finally hacting my hundreth egg, I randomly got two 10K's. Before that, my first 10k was hatching at the release of Pokémon go and my last 10k I got after I'd hatched around 85-90. I recently broke 100 and suddenly got 2 at once. I'm willing to be it's just RNG but it'd be hard to build a data base where people post what eggs they got from what stops or how many eggs they hacthed before getting a 10k. Personally, 2k's are my favorite. 10k's are pretty exciting through.

Most likely it is a random number generator. Must say I got multiple 10km eggs recently, after only having 2 till level 28.

From what I can see it's random. Sometimes it takes me seemingly forever to even nab one 10 km egg and other times I get a few close together. I got 4 within a couple eggs of each other. Even if you get one, you're not necessarily going to get what you want...

Yes. Spend lots of money on incubators.

But are the pokemon in the eggs RNG as well? Yesterday, I hatched 11 5km eggs, and 4 came out as Magnemite. The day before, I hatched another 7 or 8, and 3 hatched to be Rhyhorn. Maybe a coincidence, but I get all my eggs around the same area on my campus, so idk if location or time has anything to do with it.

Every item you can obtain from a Pokestop has a drop rate, that is, the chance percentage an item will spawn from a Pokestop. Obviously Pokeballs have much higher drop rates that Ultra Balls and Potions have far higher drop rates than Max Potions, ect... Eggs are no different. 5K eggs actually have the highest drop rate as they have the widest range of possible hatched Pokemon, followed by 2k, then at last, 10k. Unfortunately the best way to ensure you get 10K eggs is to ensure your egg stock is open as much as possible (aka lots of incubators!) as this will increase your chances exponentially.

In regards to the Pokemon hatched from those eggs, it's mostly RNG, but location does play a part, but to what extent is unknown. It's been made aware you cannot hatch region-exclusive Pokemon from eggs you obtained from a region you cannot catch them from.

Probably anecdotal but I noticed that if I have a lot of 5km eggs, then I mostly get 5km eggs. There was over a month where all my eggs were 5km and I received only 5km eggs. Then I saved up coins and bought several incubators to clear out all of my eggs at once, and when my egg inventory was empty I started getting 2km and 10km eggs again. Now I always hold onto at least two or three 10km eggs and I seem to more frequently get both 2km and 10km eggs.

May be just coincidence but now that you mention it. I only seem to have 2k's when I have 10k's. May be worth investigating.
