I think the awards you get are set server side - I don't think the client version actually makes a difference in whether you get the evolution item.

I'm still at 0.57.4 cause 0.59 was really slow on my Samsung Gaalxy S4, so I've downgraded it.
Only missing one item (for Slowking) so I can allow missing an item on my next 7-day streak if it doesn't work. Maybe not everyone can.
