Evolve or not?

It is a bit to small to be a valid defender, and you do not have sufficient candys to even power him beyond 2000CP.

So, evolved Steelix makes a pokedex entry, a nice trophy, and maybe a niche prestiger.

Steelix needs the same evolution item. It is up to you to decide, which pkm is more important.

Yeah, it'll make a great prestiging mon, tanky as hell. If you ever get enough candies it's a good defender as well at higher level with right movesett. Roll the dice

I’d evolve him and just see what happens. I know it’s every 7 days, but as long as you’re diligent you are likely to get another metal coat.
