~1-2sec Defender idle.

So I know that defenders have ~1-2 / ~1.5-2.5secs between attacks. For charge moves, does the delay/idle time start when the text shows up or after the yellow text/animation?

I've also noticed defenders not using their charge moves. Instead waiting till I use mine then using them to hit me. Also they seem to be able to store them up maybe? Like I swear a defending snorlax threw 3 body slams at me in a row but that may be my imagination

I have also experienced multiple flamethrowers being fired at me while they clearly couldn't have enough charge to use it that often. Therefore, it probably wasn't your imagination.

OT: Not sure, but I observed that the text is not always displayed before the charge attack is executed. I think this used to be different in the past. Quite often I see "xx uses flamethrower" after the attack move is used.

If you're the only attacker you can time the defender's charge move attacks base on the damage you have done on him.
In this case you are not the only attacker, this snorlax charged and used his second attack as he took multiple attacks/damages at a time.
I have experienced a case that when I entered a fight, hadn't done any damage but got a Hyper Beam attack from the defender.

The delay doesn't apply to charge moves, only to quick moves. Also, the text ia not always displayed correctly if you youse attacks that are either 'not very effective' or 'super effective' because those texts fill the text box and a new message is only posted after the previous is gone, it is just something Niantic overlooked which will hopefully be changed in the future

I thought it was 2 secs between any consecutive attacks?
Quick>2sec>quick>charge>2sec>quick>2sec>charge>2sec>charge.
Or are you saying that it's:
quick>2>quick>charge>charge>quick (2 secs overlap over the two charges).
So then what's the hype/so good about long lasting hard hitting charges? My understanding is that ppl/this site keeps saying that "longer" charge attacks eat up more of the ~1-2sec idle time so it's more time attacking and less time idling.

Point being about the text is meaning 2 secs after when the text is suppose to show up. >.>
No point in wasting time on technicalities.

The battle system is very sub par for the popularity of the game at the moment. The updates should at least partially focus on the gym system instead of adding decimals to eggs and adding medal catch bonuses.

Why can't I view the gyms I'm in? Why only one tiny balance update months ago? Will battles always be THIS simple? Screw trading that Reddit whines about. I want a better gym.
