How many types of Spawners?

According to my observations, there are at least 4 types of spawners:

Biome-specific Spawner: They only spawn a very limited number of species of the same type (matched with the biome). Take Water Spawner. It spawns Psyduck, Magikarp, Slowpoke most of the time. It sometimes spawns Dratini. I have observed that Biome-specific Spawner may also spawn ordinary trash, though at a very low rate. General Spawner: These produce a lot of Pidgeys, Spinaraks, etc. Sometimes they produce some less common mons like Houndour, Gligar, Sudowoodo. Nest Spawners: In addition to nest Pokemon, they may also spawn others.
4*. Unicorn Spawners: Most of the times they behave like General Spawners, but they have higher chance spawning some ultra rare Pokemon like Snorlax, Dragonite, etc. My theory is that these spawners draw Pokemon from a global table, a much wider range (as incense in a remote area does).

Is there any other type of Spawner that I miss, or is the above classification correct? Thanks for your opinions!

How do I tell the difference between this Unicorn Spawner and General Spawner: According to historical observations in my area, there was this Unicorn Spawner that has spawned Lapras2, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan2, Porygon2. There is another Unicorn Spawner in a gas station near my area that has spawned Snorlax3, Dragonite2. They make up most of the historical rare spawns. I don't think this is a coincidence but I need you guys to confirm.

Yes.

General Spawners not only produce Pidgeys, sometimes they produce something rare like Victreebel or Azumaril.

Right, I'm still hesitating about whether there's Unicorn Spawner or not...Could be just lucky General Spawner

Agree well with my experience.
My town is blessed with an area with what seem to be a cluster of unicorn spawners. So far the only Pokemon in our area not found there is Unown.
Combine that with four pokestops, a parking lot, a bar and a Pizzaplace and it is by far the local favorite hangout :-)

Well the potential bias is obvious: pizza + beer + 4 pokestops = a good place to hang out = more time spent there = more likely to see the occasional rare spawn. I'm not convinced there's a method to the RNG that is Niantic spawning mechanics...

People from bigger cities visiting have said they wish for a place like that with a constant mix of spawns from all different biomes. It is not the rarity of the spawns that are exeptional (Snorlax and Dragonite are still extremely rare) but the the overall variation and the low ratio of things like pigeons, rats and zubats.

I've been saying for a long time, after spending quite a few hours watching scanners, that not all spawn points are created equal. Some have much higher chances of spawning evolved forms than others, some have much higher chances of certain Globally rare Pokemon, etc.

There's a spawn point right by my apartment where (when I'm playing consistently) a few times a week I see an evolved 'Mon. I've caught at least 5-6 Exeggutor, 3-4 Venusaur, 3-4 Blastoise, and 3-4 Porygon there.

Now keep in mind especially early on, Bulbasaur/Exeggcute were quite common in my area, but almost every time I saw a Venu/Eggutor it was at the same exact spot.

I think your spawn points are a good start, but I think it gets more specific than that. For example, certain spawners will be close to 50/50 with 2 distinctly different 'biomes' available. For example there's a spawn point by my office that's about 50% Electric/50% Water - a strange mix indeed. If you drop a lure, sometimes you'll get 10x magnemite/voltorb in a row. Sometimes it's all karp/pokes/ducks/krabs/etc.

Yeah I'm also having Electric spawners super near to Water spawners! I think there isn't much research on this topic or at least not that I can find.
