Special evolutionary items

Since these items were introduced I got 2 right out of the gate (2 Metal Coats) and a third (King Rock) a day or two later. Since then, I have not received ANY nor. I know they are crazy rare, but does anyone know if their is some secret/magic way to get them? A secret way of hitting pokestops or such?

I wish I could trade them for 10km eggs. I have no use of those items outside of MC and DS. My tip would be rem where you got them? The same stops have given me multiple items. Lol too small a sample size to say anything but thats whats worked for me.Other than that keep spinning..

No tricks, they're just rare.

I've gotten 4 (1 metal coat first 7-day - I think everyone got one their first 7-day after gen2), a sunstone (can't use - nothing ready, and even if I had the oddish candies, I couldn't justify using them on a useless bellossum - I'm desperate for more grass offense), king's rock, and upgrade.

i also had 2 of them right at the beginning. then nothing else. i usually hit the same stops everyday and then different ones in the weekend, so i don't think a connection exists between the sequence of stops chosen and the items obtained.

Sounds like you're due - spin more stops. I didn't get any on my 1st 7-day spin, although many ppl think the drop rate was higher in the first few days of Gen2. Been totally random AFAICS - I've gotten an item right after a streak spin (4th day as I recall) and a couple with various streak spins, but mostly just with normal spins. My habit as a suburban player is to max my items, then every few days spend an hour or more in a pokestop-dense park, just walking and spinning to refill - typically have to dump pokeballs or potions at that time so I can have a good ratio of items.
