How should I use Blissey Correctly?

I do want to put my Blissey currently 1600ish.

I do not want to put in a lvl 5 gym or so because I will complicate my team for prestige. I really don't understand how the prestige really works.

The other day I fought A LOT in a lvl9 gym to prestige and put my Blissey at the very end 10th position.

Unfortunately at that level, you are going to be messing up a lot of gyms. Besides prestiging a level 9 gym for the 10th spot, the only thing you can really do is take over enemy gyms and place her. Hopefully your teammate will place a low level/easy to prestige mon below her. If you do not have a spare Chansey on hand, I would first and foremost make her your buddy because Chansey candy is rare.

How prestiege works:

  1. Min prestiege: 100
  2. Max prestiege: 1000
  3. Ammount gained based on max CP of the whole attacking team vs each defeated pokemon.

Ideal team: A team that can beat as many of the defenders, that is at most half of the CP of each of the defeated pokemon.

Failing that, pick a team that has as low CP as you can muster, that can beat as many defenders without timing out or straigth up loosing, picking attackers with as much advantage over the defenders as possible is escential.

As for your blissey, you are rigth, either put her in the 10th spot of a lvl 10 gym (chances are you are gonna get kicked out pretty soon), or just put something different with higher CP, and start walking her as a buddy to level her up.

If you want to help your team, do not put Blissey at the bottom of the gym! That makes the gym almost impossible to prestige. The exception is a level 10 gym, which can't go up any more. There it is good to have a Blissey on the bottom. It is difficult for attacking teams to knock her out. They may have to beat her 3 times to do that.

Even better is to have Blissey in the 9th spot in a level 10 gym. Once the attacker knocks out the pokemon in the 10th position, they will still have to reduce the prestige by 10K to get rid of the Blissey!

Yeah, it's possible, and not bad when raising a gym by 2K. But if the gym is level 7 and needs to go up 10K, I'd find another gym, or wait until it is taken over. Thing is, when you do prestige such a gym, you should put a pokemon in under the Blissey, to make everyone else's job easier. But this is the first pokemon to get kicked out, so few people will do that. Thus, the Blissey stays on the bottom and the gym doesn't go up in level any more.

If you have a friend who plays, one neat thing you can do with a Blissey at that level is after you take over a gym, have your friend put in something that is easy to prestige, like a Rhydon, Both of you prestige the gym up to level ~9 with many open spots, then put your 1600 CP Blissey in. Persons from your gym, can go in the open spots to raise it to level 10; and all of them should be a higher CP than your Blissey, so if an opponent tires to take it down before people fill in the open spots, then they are in for a long and annoying series of battles, worse than the effort it took for you to prestige it up.

I get you are a low level, maybe under l l 20.
In that case, for PRESTIGING the lvl of defending mons is lowered to your lvl +1.5. So if you want to prestige a 3k Rhydon, your 1509 cp vap will give you only around 600 prestige points sice the rhydon will have his cp lowered quite a lot.
You are low level, don't yet get to worried about lvl 30+ team mates, we know what to do in various cases with various mons, just collect as many coins and dust as possible. But better walk your blissey for candies and put another 1600cp mon instead, a vape, an espeon, whatever comes easier for you.

From experience, if you stick it in a level 10 gym, your own team will be probably the biggest enemy.
If the attacking pokemon with the highest cp has a lower cp than the defender the prestige is: (500 * Def/Att) with max 1000 points.
Blissey is very hard to prestige if she has a low level
